My parents and brother were visiting New York from Australia. They came to spend Christmas with me. This apartment was perfect for the three of them, with easy access to the subway, restaurants, bars and cute shops. Jessica and David were fantastic and very accommodating. Because my phone wasn't working, I had trouble getting in touch with David to collect the keys. We waited in the adorable little cafe under the apartment. As soon as I was in touch with David, he raced over and even kindly paid for our hot beverages because we had to wait (even though it was my phone that I had trouble with, not actually getting in touch with David). After the long flight from Australia, the promptness was very much appreciated.
The location is fantastic, and the neighbourhood is a far-cry from touristville. The apartment is lovely and well-maintained. The beds are comfortable and everyone was nice and warm inside the apartment. Only having to climb one flight of stairs was a bonus!
I would highly recommend this apartment and I would highly recommend Jessica as a host. Thank you Jessica and David for making my family's first trip to New York amazing and comfortable. You guys are wonderful!
What a perfect space Jessica has here in such a wonderful part of New York! To add to that she is just the loveliest person you could possibly encounter. She was very knowledgeable of all things "New York" (best coffee I have ever tasted haha) and I was so grateful to have such a great host! Many thanks again.
Cozy apartment, great location - everything is in walking distance.
Jessica is a wonderful and welcoming host with lots of information.
The place is perfect for people who want to explore the city
Although I did not see Jessica much as she was away most of the weekend, she was very welcoming and helpful. The apartment is close to a subway station, restaurants and 24-hour grocery stores. Little Italy and Chinatown are a short walk away. The area felt safe even when walking back to the apartment in the middle of the night on my own.
The room is bigger than I expected and although the whole apartment is fairly compact (not unusual in NY), it offers everything you need while staying in New York for a couple of days.
My stay with Jess was exactly as I imagined it would be. Jess was really warm and friendly, complete with a welcome hug on arrival :) Jess was full of suggestions on where to go and what to see which was really useful as a newbie to NYC. I stayed for 5 nights but only saw Jess a couple of times as we were both out and about. The room is, as described, cozy. There is a small desk and a place to hang clothes if needed. The apartment is full of quirky little travel finds which make it interesting and personable. It is quiet, even though LES is such a busy, vibrant place. You really are in the heart of things. I would definitely look to stay with Jess again should I have the opportunity to go back to NY. Thanks, Jess!
I stayed 4 nights at this apartment and it was perfect! Jess was a great host, very welcoming and quick to give suggestions on where to go. She was very accommodating to my arrival and departure times and gave very helpful directions on getting to her apartment from the airport. The apartment was cozy and felt like a true NYC home. The bed was super comfy and there was good heating in the apartment. The location also worked out well, being very close to the subway as well as many great restaurants and boutiques. I would recommend Jess' apartment in a heartbeat and would definitely look in to staying there again in the future!
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My first New York experience has been definitely one to remember. As it happened Hurricane Sandy made landfall while I was visiting the city. Throughout this whole situation Jessica has shown to be such a great hostess. Even though she wasn't in the city herself she made sure I knew about the hurricane and the precautions I needed to take in case I would've decided stay in the apartment. Even though after the hurricane there was no electricity in most of Lower Manhattan I had a great time in the apartment! It's such a lovely, tranquil place to stay, an oasis in this always busy city! It has all the things you need for a good night rest after spending a whole day walking around the city and it's really clean as well! The neighborhood is really nice from what I've seen, ( I didn't quite get to see it in its usual state due to power outage and everything being closed most of my stay) and I felt very safe walking around during both daytime and at night. As for transport you can find everything you need right around the corner. It has been a real pleasure to stay at Jessica's. I definitely recommend this place to everyone that needs a cosy place to stay in NY. And I specially recommend it to all the ladies traveling alone and looking for a safe place!
I highly recommend Jessica's apartment for the perfect NYC experience! Jessica was so lovely and easy to communicate with prior to my arrival in NYC. Unfortunately, for personal travel reasons, Jessica couldn't be there whilst I was staying but gave me plenty of tips (great coffee suggestions!) and welcomed me with open arms. The apartment was exactly what I expected and just a 2 minute walk from the subway. I would definitely stay with Jessica again!
Jessica is a welcoming host. She sent me useful information for my arrival. Definitely, the apartment is really well located. The neighborhood is great : close to subway, many restaurants and bars, near Little Italy and Chinatown. The room is small but it is enough for the time we spend.
The only downside is that the appartment was not realy clean. Jessica was busy this week and she neglected cleanliness.
Anyway, I recommend this host.
Jessica and Dave were great guests. Friendly, great communication, and left the place very clean. We'd be happy to host them again!
Jessica was a guest. We communicated by message and email, and even before arrival, I knew I was dealing with an experienced and thoughtful traveller. My expectations proved correct as everything went incredibly smoothly and the apartment was left in great condition. -- highly recommended guest :) :) :)
Jessica was a fine guest. She was less than happy with her stay, mostly because the house was not adequately prepared. I will do better next time!
Jessica, your mom was a great guest. I hardly saw her and it was clear to me she was busy doing her thing in the big apple. I was delighted to have met you and your mom.
Jessica, Dave, Lauren and Laura were great fun to have staying with us. We loved the fact that they toured the area on bikes--from Mattituck to Orient point! They left the suite in perfect order. They are welcome to stay with us at any time.
It was a pleasure having Jessica at our loft. She was a great communicator, clear and punctual, and just a really nice person overall. She left the place in great shape.
I would highly recommend her as a guest to anyone else!
Jessica and her friends were excellent guests. They were respectful of our home and left it clean. Jessica was very communicative and friendly..They are all welcome back anytime!
Très agréables moment passés avec Jessica et Monica !
Ha sido muy agradable tenerlas como huespedes, son 2 chicas encantadoras, les deseo que sigan pasando unas felices vacaciones
I was lucky enough to meet Jess on my second trip to NY and I have to say it's people like her that made me want to move here. Not only is she a lovely person, she's also super interesting and chilled, which, in my mind makes the perfect combo for either hosting or renting a home. Also knows all the good places to eat/shop/play in this city. Couldn't recommend this girl higher.
I lived with Jess for a year in this very same LES apartment she's renting out. The apt is fantastic, has everything you need and couldn't be in a better location. Jess is also the most considerate, lovely, friendly, fun, awesome roommate (and host) you could ask for!
Jess and I met a few months ago, she has always been kind, considerate and she knows how to have fun! Haven't been inside her apt but from what I heard is very nice + has an amazing location in NYC!
I would totally recommend my friends to stay at her place! I have no doubt that she would be a great host + she also knows the best places in NYC and remembers the smallest but most important details of everyplace she's been!
ps: she cooks the most amazing Guam food I have ever tried!!
I lived in the Rivington apartment with Jess for the past 6 months, and it was such an awesome experience!
I've lived in New York for 7 years studying and working as a graphic designer, and like many young New Yorkers, moved from apartment to apartment. Jess's Rivington apartment has the best location thus far. It's so convenient to get around to every neighborhood in the city (even Brooklyn) and there are so many cool venues in the area! The apartment itself is super stylish and cozy. I felt at home from day one. Jess is both fun and considerate. She's also so smart and just a wonderful person to be around. If I wasn't traveling abroad, would have loved to stay.
If you are here to experience a vibrant and authentic New York. There's no better place to stay in!
