The reason why I had to email Suhee repeatedly was because she took long to answer. If fact our language barriers was a huge problem, she's very difficult to understand when compared to my other Korean host (I was in Korea back in April). My other host speak english either, but I had no problems with him when emailing or in person.
Although I don't have much experience on airbnb. Suhee was the only difficult host I had to deal with. On her review of me, she claimed to be very laid back, but it wasn't true at all.
I had to email her back and forth because she wasn't responding at all until I had to emailed her again.
1) I didn't know my friend was going to join me, so i asked to pay later: Which i had to pay via Paypal before even flying out to Seoul because Suhee was too paranoid and didn't trust me to leave cash at the apartment for her (my previous Korea host didn't have a problem with that).
2) I asked for a late checkout because my flight was at 10pm: Which I paid additional for.
Once we were in Korea, I never had to contact Suhee for anything in Seoul (other then to let her know that we hung her laundry for her, because she left us instructions to do so).
On arrival, Suhee left us a letter asking us to take the pillowcases and towels out of the washer to hang for her because she didn't have time to after the previous guest.
AND being courteous guests, we took it upon ourselves to wash and dry our pillowcases and towels before flying out to help Suhee.
We did everything we could to help make her clean up to be easier for the next guest.
I was looking forward to writing a positive review about the nice apt (even though we hardly even stayed in it (we were in busan and jeju the whole time of our 5 days in Korea).
I was not going to even mention the difficult conversations, the fact that she had us do laundry from the previous guests, and the fact that the apartment was dirty (hair all over the bathroom floor and behind the toilets and in the main bed area) because i wanted to keep this strictly profession and only about the apartment).
