Matt and Vaishnavi were great hosts, they helped me through with everything I needed. Although I rented a car, his bike was my main transportation, which was awesome to go around Venice and Santa Monica, as everything is close to their place. The room and bath were spotless, as everything else in the house. Everytime I came back from the day out, Matt offered me a beer, which was a nice touch, you don't find such friendly people everywhere. Would definitively recommend them as hosts. :)
“and less than one minute from the many restaurants, bars and stores located on Washington Boulevard” = 1 Meile = 1,6 km = mindestens 20 Minuten zu Fuss
“it's around a fifteen minute walk—from the super-fun nightlife, restaurants, bars, art galleries and shopping that are available on Abbot Kinney” = 1,3 Meilen = 2,1 km = ca. 30 -35 min zu Fuss
“walk along the beach to Santa Monica in around forty minutes via the world famous Venice Boardwalk” =

-Cheescake-Factory offen ab Mittag (außer So)
-24-Std Dauerbeschallung durch startende Flugzeuge (LAX) im 2-Minutentakt, deutlich zu hören

- Universal Studios ca. 2 Std mit Bus/U-Bahn pro Strecke

“We love to meet new people, experience different cultures and undergo new adventures.... “
Very nice people. Great location if you are looking for Marina del Rey or Venice Beach.
We had a wonderful time staying at Matt's! Their home is lovely, way beautiful in person! The location is IDEAL, it was amazing to be so close to everything - I was able to walk within minutes to the beach, run through the canals in venice, and borrow their bikes and ride up the coast! Their dog is adorable and really friendly. They were very kind and hosted us last minute, we look forward to coming back!
Matt and his wife were very nice and accommodating! The bicycles were an amazing perk and enabled us to explore Venice Beach with ease! Huge thanks to them for putting up with our late arrival on Thursday night.
I would definitely stay with them again in the future. Thanks again, Matt!
Matt is very friendly and we felt us very comfortable at his nice place. Everything we needed was there and the room and house were clean and nice. It was fun that we could use the bikes and cruise the Venice and Santa Monica blvd. Location is perfect.
They were very hospitable and we enjoyed our stay. Smoky their dog was a very gracious host for our small dogs!
Short version : It was great.
Long version: Got in late (almost midnight by the time I got there) which was no problem with Matt. I called when I left LAX in the cab, you should do this as the way the complex is set is confusing - Matt was there when we turned down the street ($32 with tip)
Very nice room with a half bath and a balcony. As others have mentioned the toilet is downstairs. Really no problem. I've stayed at the Inn at Venice Beach in their suites a number of times and it's similar. Bedroom upstairs and bath down.
Smokey, the dog is great and never makes a peep, and both Matt and his wife (Visha ?sp) are both neat and pretty much gone during the day.
They have 2 bikes and I used one for the 4 days I was there. 5 minutes to Ralph's ( the local big grocery chain with US Bank outlet) and 5 minutes (maybe 10 depending how fast you peddle) to the beach and Venice Pier.
Hot tub and pool if you like and the marina (Marina Del Ray) right outside.
No AC but all you need is a fan that is provided.
Restaurants (esp Killer Shrimp, but also Joni's, a coffee shop but serving breakfast and lunch, a New York Pizza place, Noah's, a bagel place and others) and a little market are a 5 - 8 minute walk.
And if you don't use a bike the Venice Beach boardwalk (Ocean Front) is maybe 15 minutes (bike - again 5 -10 minutes)
Getting back to LAX was a breeze. I love public transit. Best part is that you see real people an real parts of LA (priceless).
it took 90 minutes (I actually just missed all 3 connections; my record from the same area in the past is 1 hr 5 min) from their door to get through security at LAX . Walk to Washington and get the Number 1 Culver City Bus and get an interagency transfer and get the Santa Monica Number 3 Big Blue Bus at Lincoln and Wash. That takes you to LAX and you get the airport shuttle (free). For me, being an old guy > 62) it was 65 cents vs 25 bucks for a cab. Younger people it will be a buck 50.
I go to Venice quite often and this seems to b the bet of both worlds - close to everything and far enough away to relax.
I certainly enjoyed my stay with Matt and family. The apt. is surface streets away from the airport which made finding it easy. Matt had a parking spot waiting for me! It's a short, relaxing walk to the beach and restaurants. My bedroom was attached to the bathroom, which included the sink, tub/shower, however the toilet is downstairs. They have an adorable dog which never made a sound! The attached balcony overlooking the hot tub had peppers and tomatoes growing in pots-it was a peaceful place to sit and read while sipping wine in the cool evening!
Matt and his wife vaish are wonderful people any they are lovely hosts too. The appartment is in a quiet and save area in the near of Los Angelas and direct to Venice beach. Their home has a nice karma and a friendly little dog with the name smokie ensure this. Everything is nice and clean. The hosts gave us the possibility to use their bikes - perfect to explore the long Venice beach.
We can recommend the hosts and would come back if we can.
What sweethearts! They were wonderful guests in our home. We loved having them here. Come back any time.
