5 out of 5 stars. Stayed for two weeks and fully enjoyed it. The apartment is clean, well and save located and as described in the ad. On top it has Wifi and a small working desk which is very suitable for working with laptop. Jorge is a friendly and highly reliable host and communication is quick and efficient. Thanks for all!
I just want to echo all the good things said about this place. It may seem a bit far away from everything, but if you walk around the neighborhood a bit, walk around the blocks, you'll see you have everything you need.
If it smells weird, just cook something or use some of the air freshener I bought, and it'll be fine.
We stayed 5 weeks in this place, which is relatively close (about 7-8 blocks) to the nearest stop of the very efficient Transmilenio bus system. The apartment is exactly as seen in the pictures and all appliances and Internet worked OK. When we booked this apartment we did not realize that the only place for washing dishes and pans is the bathroom sink. But this is not really a big deal and we got used to that after a few days.
Clemencia, the lady in charge, was very nice.
Response from Jorge:
Apartment is advertised. The host showed up reliably for both check in and check out. I agree with another reviewer that having no door on the bathroom is a bit strange, but for me it wasn't a problem. I also agree that new carpet wouldn't hurt because there is indeed a bit of a light musty smell in the apartment. It's not very strong though, or even that disagreeable to be honest. Also, just for the record--although I'm sure it has nothing to do with the apartment--I'll mention that for the first time in my life I got an eye infection (conjunctivitis) in my right eye during my stay and had to go to the ophtalmologist.
Important info: the stovetop burner on the right gets hotter than the one on the left, and it heats up more quickly too. One minor complaint: The showehead in the bathroom is lower than it can be because the showerhead holder is quite low. If you are tall like me (6 feet) you will find showers uncomfortable but manageable. The hot water heater is electric and tenants are asked to turn if off during the day, which is inconvenient, but again, manageable. Chapinero Alto is a good neighborhood, and well located due to it being what I would call more or less halfway between downtown and the flashy Zona Rosa. Overall I had a good experience and would recommend this apartment. I stayed at this apartment for six weeks and felt safe and comfortable.
Is a wonderful apartment. Near the center, well located. With nice places to eat and drink close by. I had a good stay and would recommend!
Elegant simplicity; small studio but very comfortable for one or two people (especially a couple); but I stayed with my son and he slept comfortably on the sofa. It's a good deal; well-equipped with everything you need (WIFI, TV, tiny fridge and stove: minor cooking possible; sheets, towels, you name it) and in a very good, quiet neighborhood. There is a small drugstore, pizza place, and small basic market around the corner and it is walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Cabs also available on the next block. I thoroughly enjoyed this oasis of peace in the middle of a huge, bustling city.
My experience was positive. The apartment is in a nice, central area and far enough away from the busy streets to be quiet at night, which is important since it's on the street level. The apartment has carpet, which while becoming increasingly unfashionable, didn't have any odor that other reviews mentioned. I found it to be a good amount of space. Two people could comfortably share the apartment, but do note that there isn't an actual door to the bathroom. One of the reviews said that the wifi didn't work well, which made me nervous. For me, it worked well and was about average for Colombia. Jorge and his sister were very helpful and communicative.
Jorge and sister Clemencia are super nice people and reliable for any question you may have about getting around or anything in general to make your staying easy and safe. I felt very safe inside the building and the apartment and the neighborhood is quiet and pretty. The lady who lives across the apartment in the first floor her name is Mrs. Myrian is sooo nice get to know her a little she knows a lot of good tips if your not familiar with Bogota which is a very big city and is always good to know where to go and feel safe. The food in Bogota was amazing..so have fun future visitors and enjoy the studio and take care of it too for the next one.
Love the place. Great location. Just needs better ventilation (specially in such humid cold city), other than that I really recommend it!
Good deal (37 Euros a day) for a friendly and well located place. We were well attended by Clemence, person in charge of the studio. This said, overall hygiene should be improved : the old floor carpet was not that cleen. I would really much suggest the owner to remove it or to wash it more frequently.
I know jorge for many years. he is a very reliable person and he will do all best to make your stay in his place unforgetable. his apartment in bogota is in a very nice area. its between the center and the northern part of bogota.
I know Jorge for years. I stayed with him various time in his apartment in Bogota. The location is great. Close to the center but a little out off. The area is becoming very popular for cafes and stores because of its old english style homes and seudo art nouveau buildings and parks. The apartment is really clean and cozy, Jorge is an amazing host. One of the best i've ever met. He really cares about people and loves to share and give his best! :) I stayed one month once and he was incredible generous, friendly, easy going and fun to live with. Fully recommend him!
