Wonderful little rustic beach hut tucked away from the hustle and bustle of White beach. But be prepared for rustic - the air conditioning is cool at best (27degrees Celsius) and there will be sand and bugs and dirt everywhere. But that's what we wanted so we loved it. The agency was also very quick to respond to our requests (when the air conditioning wasn't working for the first 2 days, they installed a new unit immediately after we told them).
We loved staying at this place. It was a fairly unique experience that makes AirBnB worth poring through.
It's located right next to Diniwid beach, the walk to White Beach is no more than 10 minutes max, but we didn't feel the need to go there very often because the ocean right outside the house was pleasant enough. We made good use of the outdoor kitchen by stocking up on food from Dmall. All basic items necessary to cook and dine in were provided. The decor and ambiance of this place is really great. The bathroom was clean spacious.
Now, there are people walking by going to and from the 4 resorts past the villa, but the traffic wasn't too heavy, not enough to bother us. The grounds and walls of the villa are raised just enough that people won't be able to peek in unless they really try. But if the mere presence of people walking by will bother you, this could be a problem. What did bother my fiancé, though, were male street vendors hanging out right outside the gates sometimes. For guys it's no big deal, but for women, I could see how that could feel unnerving to have a stranger standing by so close to your not very secure bedroom.
Internet access was provided via an "egg", a WiFi hotspot that connects to the Internet through 3G cellular service. It wasn't great, but Internet service is not great anywhere in the island that I've experienced.
Overall, it was a great place to relax at away from the crowds in White Beach, except for Sunday night, one of the bar/restaurants nearby turned into a rave club of a sort and thumped music until 10 or 11 at night!
Still, I loved my stay and will check out the place again the next time I visit Boracay.
Our stay was simply enjoyable in both villa (eolia 1&2) . Location wise was perfect, at diniwid beach which is further away from the crowd, exactly what we are looking for a relax beach holiday. Walk about 5-10 mins to station 1 and you can enjoy the white beach which is not too packed with tourist.
You can find spider house (best for chill out) mamas fish house (breakfast n dinner) and nami restaurant (best rated in trip advisor) for dinner with spectacular view within walks.
Personally we prefer to stay at the smaller villa because its only 2 of us. Wifi is not working, which is great (we dont need to check work email).
Bathroom is clean, though hot water wasnt properly work. We only use fan instead of aircon, and you can still feel the breeze from outside.
We also experience one day of electricity off.
The best thing of all i would say is the view that you get first thing in the morning, beautiful sunrise over beach (this is magnificent).
Mimi , the helper, also was very nice and helpful, she was waiting for us in the port and drive us to the villa, everyday she will come to clean the place a bit.
If you re looking for a rustic, out of nowhere villa, abit further from crowd with breathtaking view, I definitely recommend this place.
All amenities is also provided btw ;)
Our place at Diniwid was just what we wanted. Just far enough from the craziness at White Beach but close enough to get there! Few nice bars close by and amazing water just out the front! Nice view from the breakfast spot next door to!
Overall good spot for a couple!
In my opinion the location is perfect. It is removed but very accessible by foot to all the action, if that is what you are after. Communication could have been a little better, but nothing worth nit picking about. The ambiance was spectacular and though accommodations are relatively basic as described, I was very comfortable. The only thing worth mentioning as a negative were the doors. The door to the residence is completely off track and took great effort to close, took me almost 10 minutes my last night. When I mentioned it to the maid, she said that was okay for most people like to sleep and enjoy the view. Valid point, however not okay when you consider mosquitos, and that there is no net, and given as people walk by they can see you in bed. So everyone will essentially enjoy the view of you sleeping with the door open. There also is no lock on the door of the property. You must lock the bathroom with all of your things to keep them safe. That for me worked perfectly fine, however if I were a single woman, or if I had children, I would not feel safe sleeping somewhere I could not lock the property at all. Especially with intoxicated tourists walking in front of the property frequently. If that is not something that concerns you, I would very much recommend it.
Staying at Eolia was amazing. The bungalow is located right on the nicest beach in boracay. We got picked-up straight from the ferry and we very well taken care of (the place got cleaned every morning, a great breafast was served in a hotel nearby - inculded in price!)
Strongly recomended for a unforgetable experience in Boracay!
A pleasant location away from the crowds just a few minutes from Diniwid Beach.
Notwithstanding the appearance of a romantic getaway, this house was similar to camping, as we could hear the nature around us. Open windows that can't be closed meant we needed that mosquito net and fans. The stairs to the property may be a deterrent to some less agile.
We stayed in Tahanan for 4 days in the last week of June. To start with, we had no difficulty in getting there. Angel was waiting for us at the ferry point and she took us to Tahanan in a tricycle. It took us ~5 min to climb the ~100 steps. The house was pretty much as described in the pictures. The non-availability of AC was not a hassle as they had fans.
As others have mentioned, the landscape was beautiful and the pleasant sound of nature definitely beats the noise at station 2. However, we did run into some issues. We loved the night life in Boracay and would normally come back at 1-2 in the morning. At that time, the climb from the road to the house was quite scary. For one, there was absolutely no light from the road all the way up to the house. It almost felt like walking in the middle of a jungle with a tiny flashlight with critters all around us. Some of the big frogs and crabs really scared the shit out of us! This is something you need to consider if you are planning to come back after it gets dark.
Also, if you are taking a tricycle on the way back from station 2 / d'mall, make sure its not a shared ride. On the first day, the driver dropped us at an intersection saying he couldn't go all the way up to the house because of other passengers. There were plenty of stray dogs on the way and the 10-15 min walk to Tahanan was quite scary. On another occasion, these stray dogs chased our tricycle for sometime before giving up. So, I would recommend this place only to people who are planning to get back before night fall. We also had some issues wrt the cleanliness, especially in the kitchen. But I won't complain about it, given that we are both sticklers for cleanliness.
Apart from the things mentioned above, we did enjoy Tahanan owing to its peace and tranquility. On the last day, we wanted to stay a bit longer as we had to take a late flight. Createra was very accomodating and they had no issues with this. Also, on a couple of occasions, we took some extra time to leave the house and Angel had to wait outside. But she was very kind and made no mention of it. Overall, Tahanan is a great place. However, since we loved the night life in Boracay, we would probably pick a place closer to station 2 next time.
