I live in Ferrara where I work as a doctor in a university clinic.
I own a house in Spello which I visit at times with my family or my friends; my house is available for short trips for lovers of art, relaxing and silence.

This was a smaller house in Spello then we expected, particularly the kitchen area and the living room. It is however nicely renovated and has a beautiful outdoor sitting area. You have to go up and down a tight winding staircase to get to the bedrooms and bathroom and you will need to park outside the city wall and carry bags uphill to get there. Spello is beautiful, very friendly and close to places like Assisi for day trips, which we really enjoyed.
My wife and I and our two friends loved our four days in Spello and Claudia's little house at near the top of the town was perfect for us. There are two comfortable bedrooms, a bath and a washing machine downstairs. The bunkbeds in one bedroom might not be for everyone, but they were fine for us. Tbe upstairs (ground) level has a nice little sitting area and an updated kitchen. We especially enjoyed the outside terrace during the beautiful October weather we had. There are also several very friendly neighborhood cats.
Claudia recommended that we take the taxi from the train station, but the afternoon we arrived it was taking someone to Rome, so we walked. Claudia's advice was good. It was a long climb with luggage, athough not bad coming back down or without luggage.
We would happily stay in Claudia's house again if, as we hope, we come back to visit Spello again.
We had x delightful stay in Claudia's Spello cottage. Very cute & Spello is a very picturesque place. Claudia us slid very responsive in communication. Locals are friendly & the old village has shops with all essentials available. Word of warning to fellow travellers: if you article by train with luggage don't listen to the locals who may tell you it is a short 400m walk
Claudia's house is in a quiet location with ample free parking approx 300m away. Some guests may find it difficult to take their luggage up to the house via a cobbled street. The house was lovely but do be aware of the narrow spiral steps down to the small bedrooms. Fortunately we did not have any problems with the above. Claudia was very prompt in replying to all emails. Spello is a delightful town with friendly, helpful people. Unfortunately Claudia's 'housekeeper' doesn't speak much English so we had to work a lot of things out for ourselves. There is no wifi at the house only unreliable coverage in the piazza (email hidden) Tullia. I would definitely recommend Claudia's house in Umbria.
We had a wonderful three days and evenings at your lovely home high in Spello. It is beautifully furnished. We slept well in the lovely master bedroom and ate outside several times. The view of the chiona valley and nearby roof tops is enchanting. The neighborhood is wonderful.
La descrizione era precisa. L'alloggio era veramente carino, nel suo piccolo non mancava nulla.
Great house, Great location and atmosphere. Very charming terrace and in The center of town. Claudia took care of everything and the communication was perfect. We really recommend this place!
Nice apartment, nice terra ...
This is a very late review, but all the more concentrated with wonderful memories.
We had a marvelous 5 day vacation at Claudia and Giovanni's stunning and beautifully appointed little home in Spello. We truly loved the neighbourhood. We were greeted warmly by our neighbours every time we passed them - if only I knew some Italian, I would been able to converse with them! Sounds of bees humming in the delightful front garden, evenings sounds of children playing ball, adults in conversation, laughing and arguing amicably - such music to jaded Los Angeleno ears! Our hosts were more than kind and went out of their way to help us. We were very appreciative of this. They met us off the train, showed us a bit of the town on the way to Casa D'Este, made dinner reservations for us at the Drinking Wine restaurant where we made fast friends with the owner Maurizio, his stellar chef, Andrea and the staff.
Claudia and Giovanni suggested outings for us, called to check on us and were on hand for any questions. Thank you! Those 5 days were lovely and peaceful.
The house was very very comfortable, my children enjoyed using their bunk beds and we spent a lot of time on the patio, at the dining table, and on the window seat.
I would highly recommend Casa D'Este to anyone who wants to take a break from the hustle bustle of life.
