Retired teacher of English as Second Language, urban farmer, recent grandmother--babysitting several times a week while my daughter runs Raven's Wing Healing Center next door, which offers various massage modalties, meditation in the manner of Thich Nhat Hanh, workshops, yoga classes, and community gatherings.
I serve on the boards of Sustainble Sandhills and Moore County Historical Association. A Master Gardener Volunteer, I'm a Reiki practitioner, avid reader and yoga enthusiast. My daughter and I have a stand at the Moore County Farmers' Mkt each summer. .
I love great coffee, deep conversations, thoughtful movies, to read about nature, history, science, biography, sustainable farming and living. On my .7 acre downtown lot I have seven laying hens, six guinea chickens, several outdoor cats, two ponds, fruit trees, vegetable beds, cut flower and herb beds.
As a hostess, I'm curious about you but laid-back, attentive only when you need me.
The apartment has 'everything' from umbrella, hair dryer, local paper, maps, library, drums, a guitar, local artisans' items, original painting by Texas artist Leota Scott Douglass, a big, fat leather chair, coffee and/or tea service, gas range and full-size fridge.
This efficiency apartment in my 1910 house was renovated this year. You're encouraged to walk the gardens, the neighborhood, and our charming downtown Southern Pines.
