A really great little spot, Selena made us feel very welcome and within a day it felt more like we were neighbours with our own little cottage! The location is stunning, the cottage cosy and the friendly and inquisitive dogs were a real bonus. We wanted to take Thistle home!
A stroll around the farm brings you face to face with Shetland ponies, horses and sheep and is a lovely way to wind down. The WIFI is strong enough to work on if you have work to do, and strong enough to stream Netflix on if you want a night in by the fire with a movie. The bed was comfy and we slept really well.
Would certainly stay again, and would consider just moving here altogether... Highly recommended.
We got there in the middle of the night and hadn't realised just how lovely the surroundings of this place are! The room is spacious and Selena and her dogs are a very friendly bunch. Great countryside adventure!
Our stay at Selina and Alex's farm in Wickow was magical! We've been airbnb hosts and used it to travel for 4 years, and this has been my favorite place to stay so far :) the bed was comfy, the farm is gorgeous, the dogs are super lovey, and the hosts were amazing to chat with.
The sheep farm was a lovely opportunity to get away from the hustle-and-bustle of the city. Selena, our host, was very communicative and helpful when it came to giving directions. When we arrived, she and Alex made us feel very welcome. The farm is large and house are quite picturesque. It was nice to have the freedom to explore the grounds. I tried and failed to see a sheep up close, but that's okay. I definitely suggest renting a car if you don't already have one. That way you can drive to a nearby restaurant--Mickey Finn's Pub was great and had the best seafood chowder of my life--and check out Brittas Bay which is only about 10 minutes away. All in all, a fantastic stay. I'd definitely stay there again and recommend the place to others.
At the beginning it was a bit strange. There was Megan, a bored and nervy teenager. The breakfast was terrible! But than came Selena herself from holiday. She was a lovley host, like a mom and a friend. She was very patiently with us and our English. She could tell us so much about the Wicklow Mountains. Now the breakfast was really great!
The Springfarm with its animals, especially the dogs!, is a very beautyful place to stay. We never forget this time. Hope to see you soon. Thanksfull, Martha&Kerstin.
We had a very nice stay at Selena and Alex's. The room is nice, huge and clean. Breakfast was super good and the family (and their dogs) are super friendly! Thank you!!!!
We had a really great stay in the cottage at Selenas place. We were welcomed by Megan who showed us everything. The dogs of the farm introduced themselves as well and we were able to play with them and take them for are walk. A very enjoiable experience. Grandmother McKenzie gave us fresh lettuce directly harvested in the garden and the possibility for trips (by car) were nearly endless. We had a outstanding experience there and would have liked to stay for longer.
I can recommend this offer to everyone who wants a calm and rural environment with the possibilities to explore a lot of Ireland.
Selena and Alex gave us a great experience on their Sheep Farm. It was a superb time for our one year old son. The breakfasts were cracking and they gave us top recommendations for things to do which we had a great time doing. The farm is about 10 min from Wicklow so it is definitely not hard to get to. The end loft room and bathroom were very spacious (bigger than our ground floor put together). Also great craic with the hosts as they are very welcoming and have some good stories to tell. Would come back for sure.
We have been warmely welcomed by Selena (and the dogs-adorable) in this relaxing and beautiful place. Do not stop there only to sleep few hours and leave, there is so much to enjoy.
Great people, easy to host, hope they come back.
