My friends and I had a lovely stay at this cottage. Eva was prompt at responding to all of our questions and issues (protip: the hot water switch is right beside the sink.) It is a very cozy cottage so be sure to book the space with people you wouldn't mind being in close quarters with. That being said, it's stocked with DVDs and a few board games so there are some good options to while the time away inside. There's also a BBQ and a great fire pit in the backyard overlooking a marsh (keep an eye out for swans and ducks floating by!) The deck is spacious and the location of the cottage is great (right by a beautiful lake and very close to Picton.) There's also a Welcome Centre on the property should you have any questions about the area etc. We all had a wonderful time in the area and would be happy to go back!
We visited the last week of August, and it was a lovely place to stay. The cottage itself is tight on space, but clean, and has everything you need. We made use of the BBQ and firepit, and it does have a lovely, large deck. It is located in a shady spot in the resort, and although the cottages are close together, the decks are all on the same side of each cottage so you have decent privacy as the next cottage's deck is not facing yours. Someone recommended to go to a cottage resort when you are going with kids, and it was well worth the trip. There was a daily kids club with activities, a sandy, shallow beach with a water trampoline and bounce-house type thing, and free canoe/kayak/paddleboat rentals. Also, it is on a small lake, so at the end of August, the water was warm and great to swim in. There is also a heated, saltwater backyard-size swimming pool. It's in Prince Edward County and there are lots of farms selling produce and with farm animals to look at, cute cafes in Bloomfield, Wellington, wineries, etc. It is about 10 minutes to Sandbanks Provincial Park, and 10 minutes to Picton for groceries, etc. We also took our boys (2.5 yr twins) to the local Mustang drive in, which was fun. We rented a stand alone cottage last year, which had privacy and more space, but this was better for young kids.
The place is very nice, it looks exactly as we saw on the pictures. You have there everything you need for a comfortable stay.
This was a great spot for a week away from the city. The cottage was clean and looks to be only a couple years old. The place the cottage is located on is great as well. They hold events every day that are adult and kid friendly. The beach is great! Lots of space, nice sand and huge trampoline and play area right in the water! The space inside the cottage is cozy. We had 4 adults and 1 child. Technically 8 people can fit but it may be a little cramped if all 8 were inside at once. The deck is almost as big as the cottage itself so that was nice for some extra space to hang out. The mattress for the queen bed was comfortable. The bunk beds don't actually have a proper mattress. This isn't of the owner's doing, however. The bunk beds that come with these cottages are made of foam. There's no support whatsoever. So this is good for kids but not so much for adults as they sink to the bottom and essentially you end up sleeping on the plywood underneath. A good fix for the double bottom bunk was to remove the mattress from the sofa bed and stack it on top of the other mattress. This seemed to help quite a bit. There were mattress covers for each bed which was a bonus. The kitchen was well stocked of all the essentials. The coffee machine is a small one. It will make 3 full cups of coffee at once. You don't need to bring those coffee filters with you either. It's not that kind of machine. The one thing that could help in the kitchen was a pot. Something you can cook pasta in or boil corn. The closest thing to this was the electric wok. The bathroom was super clean and the shower had decent pressure. The front door has a keypad for a lock. I love this. For some reason about 2 days in the pin just stopped working. Thankfully when I called Eva they had a backup pin that worked for the remainder of the stay. A good thing to keep in mind: the key that is provided to you at check-in - keep it with you at all times! Just in case the pin doesn't work this is the backup key. We didn't realize this when we checked in. Also note that when you enter the pin you have to open the door within about 1 second of hitting the last button or it will lock on you again. If this is something that can be programmed I would recommend changing this. Something funny we noticed with the fridge was when the fridge and freezer were full at the beginning of the trip the freezer would pop open a little when the fridge was pushed close. As the fridge emptied throughout the week this stopped. There was nothing in the way of the freezer closing. Keep this...
Eva left a lovely bottle of wine chilling in the fridge for us which we enjoyed on the spacious deck the evening we arrived. The cottage was lovely and exactly as described. We were 8 people and although it was close quarters we were comfortable with a bed for everyone. The deck really extends the living area.
We had a wonderful time at Eva's property. We were a large group - make sure you really like your travel buddies if you're 6+ cause it's very cozy!
Eva was highly communicative before the trip and provided us with inventory lists, parking details and more. There were a number of last minute changes post booking but mostly related to a change in ownership of the camp grounds and Eva was very accommodating.
Make sure to bring everything with you (website hidden), dish clothes, towels, sheets, blankets, coffee, food, etc. This is a skin and bones accommodation, but is very clean, modern and comfortable.
Sea Residences provided for my business accommodation needs very well, from the check in through out the stay and at check out. All worked and when smoothly. Thanks to Eva and her Niece who both looked after me. In all a much more home like place to work from than a chain hotel room. Proximity to MOA is a huge plus.
