April was the best kind of guest. Communicative, clear, clean and kind.
April and I met over 6 years ago through a mutual friend in Seattle. I would travel there for work on a monthly basis. She is friendly and gets along with everyone – she has many diverse friends and acquaintances. I am moody, sometimes hypercritical, and I can say with 100% certainty that April does not have one mean bone in her body.
April met up with me in Mumbai, India at the end of my 3-month work assignment. I had been to India before and traveled the rough sleep-on-a-porch-and/or-barn way and also the corporate charge card account way.
We traveled from Mumbai to Delhi by way of Jaipur on the national (not 1st class tourist) railways and it was great! We stayed in mosquito infested make-shift ‘hotels’, 3-star Indian hotels, and one luxury hotel.
The point is this was the 1st time that April and I hung out without our mutual friend and we had a blast! Since I had been in India before it was bus-train-rickshaw all the way with no obnoxious air-conditioned tourist buses (although in the Summer heat I bet that might have been nice).
I have circled the globe in my travels a few times and only had a travel buddy twice – April was one of them.
April is kind, generous, creative, funny... everything you could ask for in a friend! She's is also very neat (tidy) and, if you let her stay at your place, you will probably end up with a fabulous new tablecloth or throw pillow or something. Seriously. She's magic.
