Nice suite in the perfect location. Just as described. Gillian greeted us and showed us the scene. Comfortable, cozy, easy. Thanks, Gillian!
Gillian was a great host—she sent us a detailed email with everything we needed to know before arriving. She also left out tea, coffee, and granola for us. Woodstock is a really fun town with nice shopping and restaurants, and nice and close to Killington. The house is on a main road which was really convenient and not always the case in Vermont. I'd recommend this stay!
Gillian was a fabulous host and her suite was incredibly convenient to all of the Woodstock/ Killington attractions. She was incredibly prompt, and really responsive leading up to the trip... I have used airbnb a few times, and she is definitely the most friendly host I have had the pleasure of staying with!
The place itself was wonderful, with plenty of space for 2-4 people. Gillian had the heat ready, and even had coffee, yogurt, and granola for breakfast, ready to go before skiing!
My fiancé and I had a great experience staying at Gillian’s place for a 2 day ski trip at Killington. It was easy to get to with our GPS and a short distance away from the slopes (about a 25 min drive). We basically used her suite as a place to rest our tired bodies after a long day on the mountain.
Gillian was very attentive and thorough in her correspondence. The suite was ready for us when we arrived and she left notes explaining all the necessary details.
The place was very cozy - an old farmhouse vibe, comfortable bed with a ton of blankets, little amenities like bananas, granola, and yogurt. The temperature outside was frigid but the place remained remarkably warm. There are two space heaters for added comfort as well.
We didn’t check out Woodstock or the surrounding areas (we did, however, visit the Long Trail Brewery which is a few min drive away), but based on our specific experience, it’s perfect for a couple looking for a home-base for a Killington ski trip. This was our first Airbnb stay and we couldn’t be happier!
We had a great stay at Gillian's. Perfect location for skiing. Even though we didn't get a chance to meet her, Gillian was easy to communicate with and made sure we were comfortable. We would definitely stay there again.
Gillian is a wonderful hostess - she was there in-person to receive us and show us the place, and left us breakfast food and coffee and tea - a complete life-saver. The place itself is exactly as it is shown on her profile - it's a quick 15 minute drive from Killington and even less to Woodstock, a cute little town with lots of yummy restaurants. It's the perfect place for 3 people for a quick ski getaway.
Great find on air bnb! The place served its purpose which was a place to sleep and relax. All utilities provided were definitely useful (ex. Toaster oven, fridge, and coffee maker)
Fast communication. Easy checkin/checkout. No complaints. She allowed us an early check in and was very flexible with us. The home is about 20 minutes away from Killington and is a finished attic. It has three rooms: A bedroom, a living room with a small corner for a toaster over and mini fridge, and a large bathroom. My boyfriend is 6'3" and had some issues fitting in the bathroom because of the slanted walls, but I suspect that he's in the minority of this. Either way, it's not a big deal. There are space heaters in both rooms for warmth. Gillian was wonderful and left us bottles of water and some breakfast items. It was a wonderful stay and we would love to return.
Gillian was a great host. Right from the start she was accessible with directions, blankets so we'd be warm, directions on where to go and what restaurants to try in the area. The house was halfway between the main downtown area of Woodstock and the slopes of Killington. I don't ski/snowboard but my husband and friend found it easy to get to Killington from the house (20 min drive) and I enjoyed myself in town. On Sunday it rained so we weren't able to go skiing so we enjoyed all of the breweries nearby. Long Trail was a quick drive, we tried cheeses at Plymouth, drove an hour to Harpoon Brewery and Magic Hat was two hours away in Burlington. Lots to do in the area and Gillian's a great host! She provided coffee, milk, cereal, yogurt, bananas and bottle waters. The internet and cable worked great and the bed/couches were comfortable. I accidentally tripped the cord to the heat yet the whole place stayed warm after I was gone for 8 hours. Very warm!
Perfect space for skiers looking to avoid resort crowds and prices.
The Host: Gillian was a great host. She was prompt to respond to any questions or correspondence. She was thorough in her explanations and directions. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting her on our stay as the whole house was booked but she made sure we had everything we needed before we arrived.
The Location: Was perfect! It's right off of Route 4 with some great local pubs and restaurants close by. It's about 15 minutes from Killington Skyship base lodge, and probably 30 minutes to the main entrance of Killington. The views while driving are spectacular! We avoided the crowds by parking at Skyship and were making first tracks everyday. In reference to a past review, if there was any road noise, we didn't hear it.
The Space: Was quaint and cozy! The temperature was perfect and easily adjustable with the use of the space heaters. We even turned them off at night. The bed was comfortable, and as a light sleeper, I woke feeling rested every morning. The living space was roomy and had a large L shaped sofa to relax. It also included a dining nook that sits between two windows, offering great natural light. The bathroom had a new bathtub / shower combo. The ceiling over the shower is slanted which was no problem for us, we're average height, but may be a bit awkward for anyone on the tall side.
The Amenities: Gillian provided two bottles of water, a package of English muffins, a jar of raspberry preserves (Delicious!), a stick of butter, a package of coffee grounds, a bottle of 1/2 and 1/2, various tea bags, plenty of plastic utensils, 2 large coffee cups, 4 small coffee cups and some paper plates. There is a small toaster oven, a coffee maker, a small fridge, a small television with cable, and she provided WiFi, which worked well.
Local Offerings: Ramunto's, which should really be called Andy's, was a tremendous experience. The pizza was incredible, try the Spinach and Artichoke dip pizza, or the Reuben pizza, both were fantastic! Andy is the owner/bartender. He is a great guy and I highly recommend making his acquaintance. Our trip wouldn't have been the same without spending some time at Andy's place (Ramunto's). Long Trail Brewing Company has a pub with a small menu and great beer. If you're an IPA fan I highly recommend stopping in, but they have something for everyone! The barrel aged 8.8% 25th Anniversary Imperial Stout was excellent.
Overall, we couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. I highly recommend Gillian and everything that came with our choice to stay here! When we come back, we'll definitely be staying again!
A wonderful guest. Gillian was very easy to communicate and deal with. She took great care of the unit and treated it with much respect. The unit was very clean when she left. Would highly recommend. Thank you
Gillian and her family were awesome guests! We shared a glass of wine on the patio before they went to a family wedding. There were 3 generations sharing a home, and everyone was kind and friendly. They treated the house like it was their own, and even left me some extra travel hangers. : )
