The Studio was roomy, filled with natural light, and very clean and comfortable. The high vaulted ceiling had big windows and gave a lovely airy feel. All decoration throughout was immaculate. Everything worked and was in excellent condition. The bathroom was sparkling and a good size. We loved the great range of teas, the coffee and the choccy biccies, and the beautiful bed linen made us feel pampered. We had our own patio complete with chairs and tea lights, and use of a very handy little kitchen next door with microwave and fridge (a carton of fresh milk was waiting for us - a simple but thoughtful touch).
Joy and ''' were really welcoming and friendly hosts. And so were their family herd of gorgeous alpacas - it was such a treat to get to know these gentle and entertaining characters. A truly special experience in a wonderful village setting, and the view from the top of their hill field was amazing.
Delicious breakfasts! Full English, plenty of toast, cereals, fruit and newly-laid eggs from the resident hens.
Joy was willing to accommodate our schedule as much as she could, which we really appreciated.
We would recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a special and very lovely stay, in a peaceful tucked-away village yet easily accessible. We also thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend Joy's very reasonably-priced felt-making workshop; two hours spent learning how to create pretty professional-looking beaded felt bowls from alpaca fleece.
All in all, a great weekend away,in a bnb we would all love to visit again.
The space is great, much larger then shown on the photos. Joy was an extremely welcoming host, showing us the alpacas and even making us an evening meal as we were leaving early and would miss breakfast. One of the best airbnb places I have stayed.
Very welcoming and enjoyable, peaceful stay. The studio is top quality. Recommend the Ring o' Bells in Moorlinch for a relaxed evening meal. Joy was very generous with her time in introducing us to the alpacas. They are amazing! It's a great place to stay any way, but the alpacas are a huge bonus! Thanks Joy!
Sehr ruhig, super großzügig, nette Gastgeber alles war super.
Very quiet, super generous, nice hosts, everything was great.
Muy tranquilo, super generosos, buenos anfitriones, todo fue genial.
Joy made our stay so memorable. When we arrived we were shown around the lovely accommodation and got settled. After this we went straight up to see the Alpacas! Joy gave us some leaves for the Alpacas to nibble on and we were able to walk amongst them and stroke them! Afterwards we had a felting session in the studio and really got to know Joy. She is a superb host who made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was lovely and so was the home-made raspberry jam! We can't stop laughing at some of the photos and have some very fond memories of our stay.
Absolutely amazing and unusual place! Wish we could have stayed longer, perfect place to relax and very lovely hosts. so fun meeting the alpacas in such a beautiful setting. Also must say the breakfast was delicious, best poached eggs I have had! Thank you so much!
We absolutely loved our stay with Joy and the alpacas; what a unique type of break away!
Joy welcomed us by showing us around the annex and where we would be having breakfast. She then took us up to meet the beautiful and affectionate alpacas - this was certainly the highlight of the trip for me!
We were left to our own devices, but knew she was there if we needed anything.
The room was very spacious and light with a big comfortable bed. We really loved the finishing touches including a range of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuit treats. When it was time for breakfast we were definitely spoiled. The fresh eggs were delicious and everyone should try her homemade jam!
We would recommend this unique stay to anyone... and already have been doing!!
Our month at the Alpaca Farm was an experience we will always treasure! Joy and her husband Dave were the perfect hosts; from the moment of our arrival, we felt welcome and at home. The studio was spacious, very clean, and cozily luxurious with appreciated amenities such as in-room coffee & tea, tv and WiFi . As we were making a documentary film in Somerset County and working odd hours, we loved having additional space to make our own food and store our bicycles. An huge added bonus was spending time with the beautiful alpacas (as well as newly hatched baby chicks!) and learning how to spin, weave and felt alpaca wool in Joy's workshop! The perfect place for a short or long-term stay in a gorgeous part of the UK… Highest recommendation!
Joy was the perfect host. Warm, friendly, accommodating and aware of your need for quiet time to settle in.
The room is wonderful - light and uncluttered with high ceilings, a super comfortable bed and tea making facilities. Heating is great for snuggling in on a winter night.
Breakfast is a pleasant affair in the craft studio, surrounded by Alpaca wool/felt products and photos. The eggs were superb and the colour of those yolks reveals the happy roaming life of Joy's chickens.
Parking is fine if you have a bigger hire car like we did - so that was a huge plus.
Now, the alpacas! It will absolutely make your day/week/month/year to get a cuddle from one of them. I didn't want to leave!
Highly highly recommend.
We had a enjoyable stay with Joy. The accommodation is lovely, and the breakfast was yum. The alpacas were so cute.. And very friendly, we had lots of cuddles !
