I'm an architect and my husband Omar is a painter. We are both mexican american, Omar 's mom is from Philly, and I was born over the border. We enjoy traveling and meeting new people.
Morgana and her husband Omar could not have been more attentive. It tooks us nearly two hours to get through immigration/customs - and my phone wasn't working so I couldn't call to warn them - but Omar was waiting for us at the apartment when we got there - he'd had to wait quite a while!
The apartment is essentially as looks in the pictures - maybe a tad smaller - but great for my two children and I. Enough space for everyone to be in their own space rather than on top of each other.
The kitchen is small but fully operable - four burner stove, toaster over and a blender (my kids are big fans of smoothies!) The bed in the interior bedroom is, in my opinion, more comfortable (softer)
To the extent there is a complaint, the water pressure in the shower was not fabulous - though Omar told us it takes forever for the water to get hot (which I had read in previous reviews) and that the pressure was not very good. I don't view that as their fault - kind of is what it is.
The grocery store (Superama) is right across the street and open until 11:30 -even on Sunday (the evening we arrived) so you can always pick something up. There is a fruit stand right outside the door every day - taco/torta stands across the street.... All right out the front door.
Morgana was very quickly responsive when I contacted her about a couple of issues. She was a great host for my maiden stay with Air B and B!
Morgana's place was great, and she was extremely easy and helpful to deal with. Clean, spacious, and perfect location. We had a wonderful time. Our only issue was a drain in the middle of the bathroom that sometimes gave off an unpleasant sewage smell, but this wasn't a huge problem.
We had a great time in Mexico City. Morgana's apartment is excellently situated, close to nice restaurants, parks and the subway. Everything in the apartment was as advertised and the supermarket across the road was really convenient.
It's a vibrant and lively neighbourhood, and also a very secure one.
Thanks for everything Morgana.
Muy buena experiencia como siempre
Not luxury, but everything you need.
While this apartment does not have a microwave, bathtub, elevator (4th floor), TV, or a stereo, it does have everything you really need: decent WiFi, light, space, a kitchen, good location.
I would not say it's in the middle of La Condesa, it's actually on the western edge; but only a 15 minute walk to the heart of Condesa. There is a great supermarket just across the street, excellent street food, a juice bar on the corner, and several cafes within a block or two.
It's a lovely, tranquil, quiet neighborhood, safe to walk around at any time of day or night, and pretty to explore.
Be aware that if you come in winter, it gets quite cold. Most apartments in D.F. (including this one) do not have heat, nor insulation. There was one small space heater that helped, but that bare tile floor was always freezing.
The hot water is intermittent. The shower will run hot for about 2 minutes, then turn cold. I discovered if you then shut it off, and slowly turn it back on, it will get hot again and stay for the length of your shower.
The refrigerator is small, half-sized.. it would be a challenge for more than two people staying there (unless you eat out all the time).
The apartment was very clean, and the cleaning lady was there to meet me when I arrived. She handed me the keys and left. A bit more of a welcome would have been nice.
The beds are comfortable, and there are plenty of closets and big windows. There is no balcony or outside space to hang out.
The photos of the apartment are accurate.
Note that the EcoBici shared bike program is only for residents. It's a great system, but cannot be accessed by tourists, as it can be in other cities like London, Paris, New York.
I never actually met the owner, but she was responsive when I had problems:
My first few days there were great. Then the internet went out for a day. The next day the electricity went out, and it took 24 hours to get an electrician out to fix it. This was a real bummer, but I can't really fault the owner - I think it was just bad luck, and that could happen almost anywhere. She did refund a portion of one night for my troubles dealing with this.
Wonderful apartment - just what we needed to explore an amazing part of Mexico City, and rest up after an exhausting travel schedule. Would be a fantastic place to stay for a week - full kitchen and amenities, and the wireless internet is fast and reliable. Also, there are GREAT street food options (tortas, tacos, some bean/masa hybrid) within a one block radius.
Morgana was very responsive and flexible when we needed to make last minute changes to our arrival time. Would definitely come back next time we're in Mexico City.
Morgana's place was exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable and well located. Morgana herself was quick to respond to questions and easy to communicate with, even though we never actually got a chance to meet in person. Everything went very smoothly, and I would not hesitate to recommend staying with her.
The appartment was perfect, thank you for making this another great airbnb experience. Safe and practical location!
Excellent location and nice apartment, with all that you would expect, even slippers! Morgana was very helpful with good timely communication about getting and leaving the key. There was an electrical issue the first night - not the fault of the hosts - and they had it taken care of the next day by noon and compensated us for the first night. Highly recommended.
Morgana's place was great! You can't beat the convenient location and great rate. It has all the amenities and was very clean and tidy. I highly recommend staying here.
Morgana y Omar are a lovely friendly couple. We really enjoyed meeting them and it was a pleasure to have them stay in our home. They are ideal guests.
Not a problem! Ideal guest from start to finish. Including the friends she brought along ...
Morgana is a trustworthy person who's also very reliable. As an extra she has a great sense of humor. Highly recommended.
Morgana is the architect sister of my boarding school room-mate and best friend in the whole world, Miguel. I'd probably say that Morgana and I are kindred spirits when it comes to how we like to enjoy our time out--that is to say that we both search out that which is interesting, progressive, and off the beaten track. During one of my trips to visit Miguel in Mexico City, Morgana and I toured around UNAM (The National University of Mexico) and discussed amongst other things, politics, history, architecture, design, love, and friendship while looking at a ridiculously massive lava rock sculpture.
Two years later, I visited Mexico on the occasion of her and her husband's wedding. It was a magical experience, and even in the middle of the craziness that is a Mexican wedding, she was an incredibly gracious host.
Not only is Morgana well mannered, polite, fun, and courteous, she is also quite small (honesty). I have nothing but good things to say about Morgana. She has always been a great host to me in Mexico city, and I'm sure she would be nothing less than a perfect guest.
We strongly recommend Omar & Morgana's place. A cute, safe and famouse neighborhood, with full of life streets, close to Chapultepec Park, and walking distance from a Metro station to exlore the city . Beautiful apartment -- clean, confortable and private, we hope you get the chance to enjoy Mexico city based in this great apt.
