Everything about Mark and Sara's house in Caunes-Minervois was perfect. The house is spacious, immaculate and charmingly decorated in a way that reflects character of the village. We had everything we needed, plus nice extra touches like the luxurious towels and bathrobes. The view over the abbey to the mountains from the second floor bedroom and the lovely terrace were two of our favorite features. While we knew we would love the house based on the photos, they don't begin to do it justice, as the home was more lovely in person. The location was ideal, both to explore the village and to explore the region. Caunes-Minervois is a beautiful village with friendly people, plus there were so much to explore nearby. We enjoyed having such easy parking for using our car for trips to neighboring villages.
Mark and Sara were gracious hosts. They were thoughtful and helpful about any questions both before and during our trip. The house was so well equipped we did not need much, but Mark and Sara responded right away when we had a question.
If you looking for a place in the area, this house would be a great choice for it's charm, location and kindness of the hosts!
We had a lovely holiday staying in Mark and Sara's house in Caunes-Minnervois. We were warmly welcomed by Sara when we arrived and felt very much at home because of this. We had arrived in the dark and later than planned but Sara made us feel very relaxed and comfortable straight away. The house was charming and catered for all of our needs and I would definitely recommend this listing to others wanting to stay in this region of France. The town of Caunes-Minnervois was also a lovely, tranquil place to stay with everything we needed, such as little food shops, boulangeries and very good restaurants. It was also the ideal location for visiting Carcassonnes and the canal du midi.
Mark and Sara were fabulous hosts, and we enjoyed chatting with them and learning about their own adventures in France. The house itself was immaculate with lovely decorative and comfortable touches. Fluffy white dressing gowns and slippers and massive bath towels added to the luxurious feel. The region is fascinating and you won't run out of things to explore. Don't wait - book now!
The local restaurant La Table d'Emilie is also a gem. We had dinner there twice and the food was fresh and innovative and the equal of most so called "starred" restaurants.
Wonderful stay after a warm welcome ! The house is large, beautifully decorated, perfect wifi, cosy little terrace... There are even slippers and bathrobes, small details that make a big difference : you know that the owners want to take good care of you.
2 minutes walk to a parking spot and 5 to the Abbaye, which is the heart of Caunes.
A great place to discover the Minervois !
