I am a 61 year old history graduate, jovial, bookish and in love with exploring the great outdoors, especially the uplands of England, Wales and Scotland - for which my flat is well situated. I really enjoy landscape photography, reading and travelling. I spend much time exploring the National Parks on foot. I enjoy backpacking and am an active member of the Backpackers Club. I'm a retired school teacher and now a Registered Carer for my 92 year old father. I also enjoy listening to live and recorded classical music and own a top grade hi-fi sytem. I cannot live without my daily dose of John Humphies and Radio 4. I regularly read the Guardian, the Independent, the Economist and the New Statesman - all online. I like watching documentaries, current affairs and films. I also attempt occasionally to play my violin. Despite living in Greater Manchester I have no interest in sports such as football. I am of a conservative and green disposition e.g. I am a keen recycler and cyclist and do not run a car and still play vinyl records as I hate throwing old technology away. I have a good sense of humour.
