Every year, I try and take one big trip (~2-3 weeks) to a far off destination. I love to walk through markets and cities, and see historic sites, check out modern art and eat delicious food. And when I get tired, there's nothing better than having a cup of coffee or tea in a cafe wtih a good book. In the last couple of years I've been to Morocco, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Chile, Argentina and to Mexico to learn to surf. But I also love to take weekend trips in the US. Traveling around the east coast for open water swims, or hiking/camping out west.
I have a cozy apartment in DC that will be available sometimes when I am traveling. It's 4 blocks from the metro, and within three blocks of a grocery store, restaurants and retail. It's a one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and the couch is a sleeper. All I'd hope is that my guests leave it as they found it.
As a guest, I am the same way. When I travel, I'm generally looking for clean, comfortable and quiet places to crash that are near to transit and shops. But, it doesn't have to be fancy because I like to spend my days exploring.
