I work as an Alexander Technique teacher and as a high-school English teacher. Interested in travel, books, music, politics, environmental issues, human and animal rights.
Love cycling, especially touring, hiking in the mountains, walking the dogs, and enjoying wild places. I like the slow food movement, cooking with local ingredients, and eating healthily.
My deepest admiration goes to people who care about improving the lives of others and about leaving the world a better place.
My style of Airbnb hosting is to be helpful but not intrusive, to make sure you're comfortable and feel at home, and then leave you to do everything you've come to Cape Town to do. If we catch up at the end of the day or at breakfast, that's great.
I love Cape Town's natural beauty and all the places one can walk - the slopes of Table Mountain, the forests nearby and the long beaches. I also love the lively outdoor cafes and the vibrant mixture of cultures which makes up Cape Town, reflected in the food, the architecture, the languages, the music and the clothing.
My favourite style of travelling is to use local transport, or a bicycle, and not to move too fast. I feel privileged to be able to visit other parts of the world, and hope always to be conscious of how life is for those people who live there.
