Fourth-generation Oregonian, born and raised in Portland. Love food, travel, and meeting new people!
Room was as pictured, large, clean and cozy. Bathroom was awesome- I rarely see those vintage tubs! Scott kindly stayed up late to wait for me to arrive.
Beautiful home & friendly people in a great location.
My fiance and I had a wonderful time in Portland, mainly due to our great time staying at Rose and Scott's lovely home. The house is clean, cozy, beautiful and walking distance to some of the best restaurants, bars, and music venues! Although we had a car, we enjoyed our nature walks through the neighborhood in the light drizzling rain to Hawthorne and Belmont streets for food and drinks. (We did expect to borrow their bikes but only one was in working condition, so would advise to ask about the availability before you check in). My new found favorite brewery is about two blocks away called Cascade -- check out their sour beers but make sure you get there on time because they close at 10. If you prefer to stay indoors, the kitchen was a warm, welcoming spot to cook a meal at home or the living room to catch up on some tv or mingle with the other guests. Rose also gave us some awesome recommendations and knew all the hot spots in town --all in all we had a fabulous time! Thanks again for your hospitality and for opening your lovely home to us!
What an amazing house! We really should have stayed a couple of nights to take advantage of all the amenities it had to offer, like a beautiful kitchen and dining area, as well as a really comfy living room. The washroom was gorgeous too, what a lovely bathtub! Our host Rose was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was close to everything that we wanted to be near, like restaurants, cafes, breweries, pubs, etc. I could see in better weather walking around more and taking in all the interesting sights! Would definitely stay here again.
Rose and Scott's home is very cozy, warm and inviting. Super nice people. Scott welcomed us at the door, invited us to use eggs milk coffe etc in the refrig and kitchen. The room it self was very large and warm and cozy. The shared bathroom has an amazing shower. I highly recommend this home! We will return. Oh forgot to mention the laberdooble LoLa, super adorable. She doesn't shed!
We enjoyed staying at this house, especially given its convenient location. It is right around the corner from tons of great restaurants and food trucks. We were able to walk or bus all over the city. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the house had a friendly, communal atmosphere.
Great hosts and beautiful quiet location.
We actually didn't get to the house until about 10:30 pm, but Scott and Rose were very accommodating and waited patiently for us. My girlfriend and I stayed in the upstairs bedroom with the balcony, and it was a very decent sized room with its own walk in closet. The downstairs is a devoted communal area and is ideal for mingling with the other guests. I'd also note that the floors can be a bit creaky, but it actually gives the place a welcomed rustic feel.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Portland experience.
This stay was everything we hoped it to be and so much more. Rose welcomed us with open arms, and we instantly felt at home. The house was perfectly decorated with beautiful natural light, and lots of space to hang out and make new friends. Our bed felt like a cloud, and the bathroom has a combination clawfoot tub/rainforest showerhead... Let's just say it instantly transports you to the tropics. Rose went above and beyond to ensure we had an extraordinary Portland experience. We will definitely be coming back to this city, and we can't imagine staying anywhere else!
Such a lovely, and spacious house. Definitely enjoyed our stay...especially that beautiful bath tub! Great location, and very friendly hosts!
This is a great place to stay if you want independence and freedom to be on your own when visiting the city of Portland.
