Retired engineer. Like to fix things, make things, grow things, read, putter, travel, bike....and enjoy life with my wife, Ellen. My two sons are living enviably rich lives but live way too far away. It's always good to see them.

Mike and his wife were wonderful guests. I enjoyed their short stay, and they left the place exactly how they found it.
Mike and Ellen are excellent guests, bright, engaging, civically involved, and have many interests that will make their visit always memorable. You will wish that they could remain a more permanent addition to you immediate community! You will find yourself feeling fortunate to have had this couple as guests!
Thoroughly enjoyed hosting Mike and Ellen. A very interesting, social and independent couple. The room was left in perfect condition and I can only say I wish they could have stayed longer. Their world of farming is so different than my beach world that I wanted to asked a million questions.
Mike and Ellen were delightful guests, fun, charming, and great to talk to. We had a ball meeting them, and would love to welcome them back anytime.
We had such a great time with this dynamic duo! They are brilliant people with fascinating conversations just waiting to be had. We loved talking about farming, and it was such a treat when they got to stop by our urban farm for a while. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
Mike and his family arrived early enough to tour the gardens. They are organic growers and enthusiasts and brought a special appreciation to the world class greens and South African squash (in homage to Mandela) they had for dinner. They were eager to help out in the kitchen for a waffle breakfast and left their rooms clean with the beds stripped. It was a perfect birthday for Mike, topped off with a short hike to the hidden treasure of our neighborhood, an amazing old growth redwood. Happy to host them again.
