What a great apartment! Exactly as the pictures and with great views! Only a few mins walk from Santiago's brilliant metro and also three minutes to the nearest supermarket. Highly recommend this apartment.
Everything was as shown on the publication. The apartment is nice, it's at a nice neighbourhood and you have everything you need to enjoy Santiago.
Muy buena la ubicación y muy lindo el departamento, la verdad q muy cómodo y muy buena la pileta!
Great apartment in a great location
Fernando, un gran anfitrión siempre preocupado por tu comodidad. La ubicación del departamento excelente. El departamento, de primera categoría.
Excelent choice! Nice apartment in a good location.
Superior location. Everything steps away from apartment. Photos do justice to apartment quality. Views are superb. Will repeat stay here.
The apartment was great - an older building but well-maintained. The apartment is well decorated and spacious - lots of sunlight. It was a missing a few details but we received the items immediately after asking the host - even on a Sunday night. Highly recommended.
This stay was a nightmare until AirBnb customer service helped us.
I suffer from a medical condition in which I get overheated and need to stay someplace with air conditioning. So in planning the trip to Santiago for my wife and I, I had only (2) items in the filters: "Air Conditioning" & "Pets Allowed" (as I have a 6 kg service dog). This had both so we booked it, despite the higher price.
But there was no air conditioning. It wasn't broken, it just was never there.
My wife and I collectively have lived in Santiago for 14 years until 2013. Knowing that Air conditioning is rare in Santiago apartments, we opted for this apartment over the few others.
From the beginning there were problems.
In the confirmation email after booking the apartment, there was just an address. No apartment number. So when we arrived at the building reception, we were given no help and told that "they didn't have any minutes on their mobile phone to call the owner". Meanwhile, in the previous correspondence, we were told things from Fernando like "we'll see you there", insinuating that there would be a person there to great us. I left the building to a restaurant with wifi to contact Fenando.
We were told the Wifi information would be in the room. There was a paper with a username/password, but that network did not exist. So again, I had to leave the building to goto a restaurant with wifi to tell Fernando of the problem.
3) Dirty Towels:
The listing included clean towels. They were not. They clearly had been rolled up while still wet and left there to stink up the bathroom. We asked for replacements to be delivered as well as an extra key for my wife.
4) Extra Key:
While they towels were replaced, we did not receive the extra key, despite being told so. So again, I had to contact Fernando and then a person came with the key.
5) Air Conditioning:
At this point, it was exceptionally hot and I looked around for the AC unit. I didn't see it and again contacted the owner. I was then told that there was no Air Conditioning. Fernando gave the excuse that he "copy/pasted from anther listing and must have made a mistake". As we know, if the listing were only text based, that could be true. But to list an apartment on AirBnb, you have to manually add the amenities as they appear separately and are needed to be plugged into the search filters.
When I brought up the issue to Fernado, he told me to "focus on the positives of the apartment, not the negatives".
After 2 nights of no sleep due to the heat, I contacted AirBnb customer service. They were extremely helpful in remedying the problem and moved us to a new apartment.
This apartment isn't bad, the way it is managed is the problem. Hopefully this experience protects others.
