My husband Ben and I have four children, and a friendly Portuguese water dog. We love this neighborhood, especially the park and the restaurants!

This apartment was exactly as pictured and is fairly spacious by New York standards. Park Slope is one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC with blocks of historic brownstones, beautiful Prospect Park, and lots of restaurants and coffee shops to choose from. We had no problems checking in or out of the apartment and the owners gave us our space which was appreciated. I was traveling with an infant so I will mention that the stairs are steep and the floors are creaky. However, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a NYC apartment in a historic building that doesn't have quirks and these would not have bothered me at all if I weren't traveling with a 4 month old. I would definitely recommend this apartment for a couple or for 3- 4 adults as a convenient home base in picturesque Park Slope.
We booked with Jean for members of our family that were coming to visit us in Brooklyn. Making the booking and follow ups with questions etc was really easy in advance of their arrival, and Jean and her husband followed up during the stay to make sure everything was ok, which was great.
We live in the area so can attest to the really handy location of the apartment; a 10 minute walk to the subway and there's loads of bars, shops and restaurants near by.
Jean and Ben are perfect hosts.
We felt we were welcome. There was ground coffee in a jar, milk and bagels in the fridge, and a container with (cold) water.
Everything we had talked about was in order. The picture we had of their house and the apartment was true.
They helped us in every way we asked.
The apartement is filled with light and it is charming and it is a quiet area.
It is a ten min. walk to the nearest Metro station.
Not much could be better.
We were 4 people so I had to sleep om the air mattress. It is huge, thick and with an electric self inflation. So it was easy to handle.
Our stay with Jean was the best.
Easy to find / collect keys, a warm welcome - including home-baked cookies and bagels! - and lots of info about the local area. Jean checked in from time to time, and we were very comfortable. The apartment is stylish and I only wish we had more time to hang out there. We have a good friend in the neighbourhood, so will definitely be back if Jean will have us!
Jean was great. Special touches (food, drinks, etc). Place was great. Very central to Prospect Park and bars and restaurants Park Slope's 5th avenue. Happy to stay there again.
We really enjoyed staying in Jean's lovely, peaceful, spacious apartment, watching the squirrels in the trees outside and exploring the many local shops and restaurants. We didn't cook dinner in the flat but there's a huge cooker (4 x hobs + oven) and fridge / freezer and and everything else you would need. Sometimes it's the small things which make a huge difference: our flights were delayed and we experienced various hold-ups which meant we didn't get to the flat until 2am on arrival, so discovering the bagels, cookies, coffee and milk left in the fridge for us so we didn't have to go out first thing to stock up were worth their weight in gold! We only used the main bed but it was really comfortable. Oh, and communication was great - Jean was incredibly responsive throughout the whole process via email and text. Definitely check out the charming Prospect Park if you end up staying here.
We had a great time staying in Park Slope at Jean and Ken's apartment. The apartment is on a beautiful tree-lined street and was exactly as we hoped - very comfortable and everything as expected. We were made very welcome and Jean was always available if we had any queries. Park Slope is a great area to stay when in New York - easy access to Manhattan and a nice neighbourhood to spend an evening.
Jean and Ben were very welcoming (including providing us with bagels and biscuits upon arrival!). The apartment is very tranquil with a lovely leafy aspect. For us it was a real haven from the busyness of New York. The neighbourhood of Park Slope is wonderful with many places to eat and tree lined sreets. It does take some time to get into Manhattan (subway was a bit over a 1km walk away, which takes some time with kids), but overall we had an excellent stay.
This is a great apartment full of character in a fabulous area . We loved it here . There were nice touches such as soap and shampoo as well as breakfast things . Ben and Jean were easy to contact and kept in touch to make sure everything was going well. The kitchen is well enough equipped to make a simple dinner if you require , as well as there being a multitude of great restaurants in the area. We had a super time !
It was a pleasure to host Jean's husband and daughter. They were both friendly, communicative and appreciative of our efforts. Jean's daughter was especially sweet with our dog, Austin and they became fast friends. We would welcome Jean's family to come back any time, and we can highly recommend them as excellent Airbnb guests.
Jean's husband was a great guest. He was very clean and respectful. He took care of our place pretty well. Would love to host him again is his next visit.
