We are a retired couple and enjoy having guests. We have been in Cambridge for 24 years and think it (email hidden) to live.
I had a terrific three day stay at the Riverbend B&B––the room is bright and airy, cooled by the breezes (though there is an AC unit, just in case!), and quite comfortable. It's a quick walk to the Harvard Square area (and its T stop) through leafy streets. Polly is a lovely, warm and very gracious host, and I look forward to staying at the Riverbend again on a future Cambridge trip!
Polly is a very accommodating host who cares about the guest and providing a full bed and breakfast experience.
The place has everything you need, towels, soap, shampoo, coffee and lots of books to read whilst your there.
People complain about the noise outside on the street however i slept just fine (and it's a good alarm for the morning)
I also went in and out as I pleased which i was extremely happy about!
I'm 6'2 and slept fine on the bed a little sideways
Polly is very nice, and ready to help with advises and directions.
The room has basic furniture and some may need a little fix.
Location is good, but the road nearby is a bit noisy.
Polly's place is in a lovely neighborhood with historic homes, very near the Charles River. The Harvard campus, Harvard Square, and a T stop are all close by (about a 10-15 minute walk). I appreciated having a private bedroom + bathroom and WiFi access. Polly is an interesting, active lady, and I enjoyed chatting with her. In all, this is a pleasant, homey place to stay in Cambridge.
We had a great stay with Polly. She (email hidden). Her house is about 10 min walk from Harvard sq. she is right across the road from the river. If you are a light sleeper the road noise may keep you awake. Polly provided a very nice breakfast for us in the mornings.
Polly (email hidden), very welcome, open and warm. She was patient with me coming home really late from work and even waking her up because I left my key in a closed office at work. Her house is very close to the Charles River and Harvard Square, so you will be in a walking distance from the Harvard T station and the center. The room is spacious and cozy and has a beautiful view on the river, and there is also a private bathroom next to the room.
I will certainly stay with Polly next time I am in Boston. Many, many thanks, Polly, and my warmest wishes of all the best!
I recently had the pleasure of staying here. It has a convenient location to Harvard Square. The view of the Charles River was especially pretty. I enjoyed the privacy of having the third floor of the home to myself with wifi, a TV and my own bathroom with plush, soft towels. Polly was such a dear, sweet woman, and it was quite obvious that she wants her guests to be happy with their accommodations. She also provided a large breakfast for me complete with fresh fruits. We had an interesting conversation while eating, and I wished I'd had more time to spend with this charming lady. I would definitely stay here again, and hopefully this B&B will be available during my next trip to Cambridge.
if you are visiting harvard and you appreciate a charming bed and breakfast experience you will have (email hidden)e's easy, courteous, and her place is just right. simple walk to harvard square.I give Holly a thumbs up
Poly (email hidden) and loves to host people .I often had interesting chat with her during breakfast. Poly cooks excellent breakfast and ensures the taste of her guests.
The house is located just opposite to River (website hidden) is a pleasure walking along the banks of the river during early morning.
Harvard square is a 5-7 mins. walk from here or you may get Bus or Rapid (71/73) just across the road to reach Harvard Square. Kendall Square is 10 mins. distance by Red line from Harvard Square. I'll definitely recommend others to stay here
I have to say that Polly made my very first experience with Airbnb a wonderful one! Her home is welcoming, comfortable and very conveniently located close to Harvard Square. We had enjoyable conversations during our tasty breakfasts. I felt safe walking back by myself down Mt. Auburn Street at night, and she was always there to greet me when I returned at night. The room is clean and bright and had everything I needed, and more! I enjoyed the private bathroom and having the entire third floor to myself. The shower is great, too. From previous reviews I knew that there would be street noise during the night, so I was prepared for that. I would love to stay here again.
