A History Instructor living in New Orleans on Esplanade Avenue.
I had a lovely time at this clean, comfortable and spacious apartment. The bathroom is huge. The hosts were really friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back.
I traveled to New Orleans and spent eleven days at this wonderful shotgun style duplex. Very delightful experience. It was enough space for three of us (two in one bed and one on a fold-out bed. The kitchen was nice and well equipped, large bathroom, laundry and storage area. Bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, although we didn't figure out how to use it. Our host was very accommodating, and my father enjoyed some long conversations with him. Overall, very good experience. Fairly centrally located, there is a bus that goes most of the way to the french quarter. The exterior is very nice, and it a short walk down a nice street to see a classic N.O. style cemetery, a nice plaza, and there are a few coffee shops and corner stores in the area. Good price for a great place. Thank you Yakir (and Edie).
Our recent stay at Edie's humble abode was just what we were looking for to close out 2013 in charming New Orleans, LA.
We were warmly greeted by her partner Yakir, who was quick to show us around the loft as well as provide some interesting background on their experience as native Nawlins residents. He answered our few questions about locations and provided great tips about where to be for NYE. He even welcomed us to join them for their own little gathering, which was a nice gesture.
The room is perfect for 2-4 folks, has an updated kitchen area with a great sink and good appliances, as well as a great assortment of paintings and decor to set the ambiance. The bathroom was sparking clean and offers the wonderful jaccuzi-style tub to freshen up in before a trip to the French Quarter or Magazine St.
The mood lighting, ironing board, HD flatscreen, and pull-out couch were perfect amenities that added to our wonderful stay. I'd certainly recommend renting through them again, and will surely do the same on my next visit to NOLA. There's so much to see, three days is tough to cover it all!
Edie was a great host. We were her first customers, she had everything we needed and made absolutely sure we were initially satisfied, which we were. The room was nice and had everything we needed for our stay. Having a garage to park our car was also a plus. The neighborhood is nice and whether its for a hangover or nice sit down meal, there is great food all around. There is a small market with a grocery store and small restaurants if you're walking to city park. The house is within walking distance to City Park (nice walk, Voodoo Fest) and a short cab ride to the French Quarter. If you want to be close to the action but some peace and quiet this is the place. Great stay!
