This was an amazing and wonderful place to stay! Amanda is welcoming and very helpful with information and ideas. The room, garden and the entire apartment is exactly as expected and described. I could not have asked for a better experience of Venice from this neighborhood-it was unique and inviting.
I attended a conference in London and luckily stayed in Amanda's apartment for three days. I enjoyed the stayed. Everything is just perfect.
Amanda responded extremely quickly to our inquiry, and sent us detailed information on where to park and how to get to the appropriate water taxi stop near her apartment. She even came to meet us at the stop since it would have been difficult for us to find the building on our own. Amanda's apartment is immaculate and situated in a good area of town opposite the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. It is located between two courtyards, so there is no street noise. We had our own bedroom that looked out onto one of the courtyards as well as our own bathroom, and use of the kitchen and living room. Amanda lent us her map and gave us recommendations for areas to see, and even walked us to a restaurant after we arrived late at night at wanted to get dinner. We also got to meet and play with Caramel, her pet rabbit, who was very cute and friendly. The only thing that could have been better is the water temperature in the shower wasn't as hot as we would have liked, but other than that, everything was impeccable. At the end of our stay, Amanda walked us back to the water taxi stop and even helped us carry our bags. She was a lovely and welcoming hostess.
Appartement parfait, le quartier est idéal, très proche du centre et a 15 min a pied de saint pancrass. Beaucoup de cafés et de restaurants au pied de l'immeuble mais le quartier reste très calme. Il y a même un tesco, idéal pour faire les courses.
Amanda fits perfect to this beautiful city, she is as glamourous, friendly, generous and inviting as Venice. We really enjoyed her company - and her little rabbit. And the beautiful quiet garden. And the feeling of living a little like a Venetian person behind one of these secret wooden doors.
We spent a month in this flat and would recommend it highly. Amanda is a warm and gracious host, highly responsive to concerns or questions and very professional and caring in her management. Elia, who cleans and also takes care of things when Amanda is away, is delightful. The flat itself is comfortable and homey and very clean. It's also surprisingly quiet. Because Charlotte Street is primarily offices, traffic falls off dramatically on evenings and weekends, though, in one of the largest cities in the world, there will be some noise. While other reviewers have had issues with the stairs, we had no problems at all -- and we're in our sixties -- though if you find stairs daunting, it's not the flat for you. The location is even better than we'd imagined. West End theaters and the National Gallery are no more than a 20 minute walk. The shops on Oxford Street (unfortunately for my pocketbook) are ten minutes away. The flat is set up nicely if you want to cook -- but if you want to eat out (and who wouldn't in London?), there are probably over 30 restaurants, pubs and coffee shops within a 2-block radius (we lost count), many of them excellent. Reynolds Cafe downstairs has better coffee than any of the chains. One of the best Indian restaurants in London -- The Gaylord -- is a 10-minute walk down Goodge St to Mortimer. With the Goodge Street tube stop two minutes away and Warren Street five minutes away, we found that we could get virtually anywhere in central London in less than 30 minutes. The Borough Market in Southwark, for example, is a surprisingly quick hop by tube for bread and cheese. In fact, the flat is so well situated that it was often quite convenient to return in the middle of the day for lunch or a quick break. We can't say enough good things about the entire experience. Thank you, Amanda! We want to come back.
We were very fortunate to be able to have the use of the entire apartment as we rented both rooms. It is situated in a lovely area very close to the Academia Bridge. The apartment is on the ground floor and overlooks two private gardens so you look out onto a garden from all the windows. The area (Corso Duro) is really quiet and well kept and in walking distance to all we wanted to see and experience. Just opposite is the Peggy Gugenheim Museum which is a very special place to visit. We can certainly recommend Amanda's place.
- Great location, very handy for the museums and Accademia Bridge
- Large modern, clean flat
- The room itself was medium sized & was a little sparse (e.g. no bin and we had to ask for a mirror)
- Our host, Amanda, was very friendly and helpful. She gave us some food when we arrived back late and nothing was open.
Overall, I would highly recommend. Thank you for hosting us, Amanda.
Absolutely loved staying at Amanda's!
Her apartment is very easy to get to which is helpful because it's so hard to find things on Venice using maps - even (website hidden) maps struggles! She gave us helpful directions and even met us at the nearest vaporetto (water bus) stop to walk us to the apartment. She was also very accommodating letting us leave our luggage there during the day of our departure as we weren't leaving Venice until the afternoon.
The room was really big with plenty of room for our luggage and with two comfortable beds. We had access to our own bathroom and Amanda had cleared space for us in the fridge and kitchen cupboards - all greatly appreciated :)
She also has an adorable bunny who is fun to play with.
All in all, had a great experience and would definitely choose to stay there again on my next trip to Venice!
We had a wonderful stay at Amanda's flat. We booked the same day as we arrived in Venice and Amanda was incredibly helpful in accommodating our late arrival. She even bought us some sparkly wine as it was Valentines Day!
We had free use of the kitchen, and we were allowed to use Amanda's staple kitchen foods like oil, salt etc, which was incredibly useful.
The bed was large and very comfortable, and the room incredibly quiet and peaceful.
The location was perfect - right by the Accademia & literally opposite the Peggy Guggenheim Gallery - perfect for any creative.
Amanda's lovely pet rabbit was a treat to have around too!
I would definitely hope to stay at Amanda's place again.
Amanda has been my best guest so far. She was very understanding and left the flat in really good condition. It has been a pleasure to host her.
Amanda was a delight to have over! She's bubbly and fun and a pleasure to chat with (and shop with)! I'd have her back in a heartbeat!
Amanda followed my only rule (lock front door when entering and exiting so the doggies don't scratch the latch to open the door and run out) to the letter and always turned off the electricity. She was very sweet to the housekeeper and my doggies who adored her!...
For sure I made a new friend in Amanda :-)
Amanda was a terrific guest. She was polite and respectful and tolerant.
I would be very happy to have her again. She is always welcome here.
Amanda is very friendly, easy going and would go out of her way to be helpful.
