Ken and Marilyn were great hosts! We stayed here for two weeks. When we got there, they had delicious homemade muffins, fruit and almond milk. It was super clean and they even did our laundry half way through our stay! Forest knolls is a quiet and quaint area of Marin County. Perfect to take walks in. We were working in Marin those two weeks, so it was a great place to come home to and relax after a log day.
I also really loved the brand of shampoo and conditioner they provided :-) made my hair silly smooth.
I enjoyed my stay at Candelero. Everything was as described and I had a relaxed and enjoyable time. This is a good location for a visit to the Point Reyes area.
The cottage is very homey and pleasant and cute. Ken is a great host. Would definitely come back!
what a cool little place! alcove futon bed was very cozy and the apartment had everything one could ask for a weekend stay. the shower is fantastic and the donut, aka bran muffin, quite delicious. i like the san geronimo valley as well, close enough to the beaches and trails of pt reyes but off the beaten path a bit, a nice escape!
We had a relaxing three nights at the Bed and Donut. Ken was a gracious host and communicated promptly prior to our arrival.
The setting is quaint, quiet, and beautiful, and a short drive to nearby Point Reyes Station for oysters, or to Samuel P Taylor park for hiking and exercise. It's also a short walk to the Papermill Creek Saloon, a good place to stop in for a drink, and on a sunny day, to relax on the outdoor patio.
We had a great time and would recommend Ken as a host and the Bed & Donut as a great place to stay.
Small, but comfortable and well laid out. The host was extremely considerate and went the extra mile as our check-in dragged late due to traffic. Very well appointed with linens and towels. Sofa bed is comfortable, but not for the very tall. VERY quiet and private, and close to some of the most beautiful country in the world.
When we arrived, Ken was welcoming and thorough getting us situated. The spot was the perfect size and location for our exploration of West Marin and had everything we needed (and was very clean!). I can't comment on the sofa bed but we slept like royalty in the nook!
Ken recommended live music in Fairfax that I'm pleased we didn't miss & was also flexible on setting up check in/out times. We were only there one night but I have a feeling we'll be back! :)
Ken was a great host and left us with delicious, homemade bran muffins. The space was perfect - very cozy, fully stocked - we felt right at home instantly. We had some nice wildlife sightings too.
I totally recommend it!
Ken's property is beautiful and nice accommodations were made for us. It is apparently implied not to use these accommodations, however. Ken complains about me using too much creamer - if you don't want me to use it, why provide it? I also was unaware of the hidden expectation to clean my own dishes - nothing in the house rules about that!
Showers are also limited to 5 minutes, but it takes that long to find a comfortable temperature. It was either scalding or icy.
Cozy place with great books.. all i needed for a weekend getaway! would go there again!
Lovely, sweet and enthusiastic guests with lots of humor. Nice to meet you and welcome back anytime!
