I am from California, and I love humanity and the natural world.
Mathew was a great host and his place was in a great location. It was close to everything and was very walkable for most things. It was nice to have a well equipped kitchen and large sitting area.
An ideally situated house, with ideal set-up (wifi, laundry, loaded kitchen, footed tub, hot water) and (for snowbound midwesterners) what great weather! Plus your host is both responsible and chill! Downside is leaving.
We had a great stay at Matthew's house. It was very nicely equipped and comfortable.Perfect location - we walked to the farmers market, Berkeley campus, restaurants etc. We didn't need our car for three days.Matthew was easy to communicate with. I'd stay there again.
Nice place and very safe. And Mathew is pretty nice too.
Matt was great and a pleasure to deal with. The place had a good atmosphere and is nicely located close to Berkeley.
Matthew was a great host because he communicated with me when needed and was at the house when he said he would be to greet us or assist us as needed. We stayed three weeks and were very comfortable. We cooked there in the well equipped kitchen and had a nice dining room for our group dinners. The house is in a great location to do any business at UC Berkeley and we had no problem parking on the street at night. Our stay at Matthew's home was just perfect for what we needed!!

I can highly recommend that you stay here and would stay again. Matthew was an excellent host and the apartment was clean and well furnished along with an nice kitchen area. This was a relaxing space to call home during our visit with family in the Bay Area during the New Year week. We stayed for only three days with our two teenagers (four total). The internet access was excellent, the location near Shattuck and University was great, as well being close to the Bart station (Berkely Downtown).
Very convenient neighborhood, parking relatively easy, big living room. Kitchen, dining area and living area are spacious and comfortable. Only comment I have is that there is no dryer on site so we had to dry "solar powered", which is ok if the weather is good. In our case, weather was chilly, so clothes didn't dry. Aside from that, great value.
The apt is nice and so is the location. We did not spend too much time in there, but we cooked a full fish-and-vegetables dinner once and it we found everything we needed to do that in the kitchen.
Matt cares a lot about the wooden parts which is OK, but since even the kitchen floor is from wood we had to be extremely (sometimes annoyingly) careful not to spill out anything by accident.
Incredibly convenient to Shattuck Ave and the UC Berkeley Campus Matthew's place was perfect for my brief time in Berkeley. Some colleagues and I were there for a conference on campus so didn't find ourselves at home for much of the weekend but when we were there it was a comfortable and lovely place to stay. I enjoyed talking with Matthew during my checkin while admiring his photography hanging throughout the apartment.
Having Matthew as a guest was a humbling experience. Due to some heavy raining and a bit of misfortune, the house suffered a minor flooding which affected his room as well as other parts of the house. We tried to address the situation as quickly as possible but we were not adequately prepared and some of his luggage got wet.
Despite the unpleasant situation, his reaction was worthy of praise. He was patient and understating, and even helpful during the emergency.
We fully recommend him as a guest to the other members of the Airbnb community.
Matthew was a great person and was my pleasure to have him in my apartment. He is more then welcome.
Good guest. I have no major complaints about him.
