I am a retired educator and school district administrator. My background and degree areas are in Public Health and Counseling Psychology. My husband still works in the educational field, as well. His degrees are in Zoology, Ecology with a PhD in Higher Education Administration. He is currently a district-level administrator and college adjunct professor (life sciences). Music is a HUGE part of my life. I play/sing in a band and also teach private music lessons (voice, guitar, piano). My husband grew up a musician and played in a symphony orchestra for 25 years. I love to travel and particularly to NYC and Brooklyn. Our son lives there presently. I love experiencing new foods of different cultures. I can't go to NYC without seeing a Broadway show even if it means for the third or fourth time! They never get old! I am the mother to two wonderful adult children. One son, one daughter. I have a beautiful granddaughter as well! When visiting the Big Apple, I enjoy wandering around the city, visiting the museums and the non-touristy places. I would love to visit the Northwest and Southwest US once again. I am a great guest, because I feel that while visiting in someone else's home, it is my responsibility to take care of it as I would my own home. I do require a very clean, neat apartment (although I am an organized, clean clutter person)! I enjoy sleeping in a comfortable bed and getting a good night's sleep. I want a nice place to stay, but do not require the MOST expensive one! I enjoy finding good bargains! I also enjoy cooking in at least once or twice while vacationing. I am looking forward to traveling more frequently once my husband retires in a few years. My other hobbies include taking care of my three dogs and two cats, collecting depression glass and dragonfly-themed objects and jewelry, plundering through antique shops, researching my genealogy and writing/composing original songs. I guess if I had to tell you my life's motto.......I would have to say LIVE, LAUGH and LOVE as much as you can and attempt everyday to help someone.......even if it is to just give away a big smile! We never know the burdens other people shoulder, so just give them a smile, a hug or some good conversation! Be kind and respectful to one another!
