I'm 59, happily married, childless, a part-time high school teacher of Latin and other foreign languages (Russian, ancient Greek, neither at the moment). I like music (classical first, anything acoustic), singing (I sing in a chorus; I like opera and all performance with singing), literature, good food and wine. I'm socially progressive and politically liberal and active (although I think the country has moved right farther than I have to the left).
My wife is a school counselor, serious singer, dedicated game player, consistently kind and cheerful. When we travel, we like places, not tourist sites; museums, performances. We like getting to know people, even though we are not good at staying in touch. Our longest trip together was to Russia and Ukraine, where we stayed with families in their apartments. We enjoyed this a lot, knowing that domestic space in Russia is generally much smaller than in the West.
We love talking to people who know a lot and really love where they live.
