Ezra originally booked a 5 day stay but ended up canceling his reservation after the first night when he found our place to be too cold for him and his friend. He checked in too late for us to come to connect before bedtime. decent we texted him that coffee was ready for him in the kitchen he replied that he had left in the middle of the night because our place was inadequate for his standards. We felt really sorry and, although in two years of hosting this had never happened to us, we granted his cancellation and promised him a free night if he wishes to come back in the summer. We tried to the best of our abilities to treat him with kindness and we hope he received our intentions genuinely. We understand that sometimes Airbnb spots are not the best fit and wish him the best. He did communicate well with us before the booking and left the place in great conditions (though he was only in the room for a couple of hrs). We wish him all the luck!
Ezra was a perfect guest. Well mannered, neat, and quite good company. I would recommend him to anyone.
Ezra is a delightful guest to host. He is easy going, polite and no trouble at all. He was here with us for a second time this visit, but unfortunately we rarely saw him. I would highly recommend him as a guest for your BNB.
We really enjoyed having Ezra stay with us, he is earnest and interested in many of the same things we are so we had lots to talk about- like mushrooming in NC. I think he found our house a quiet refuge with close proximity to downtown Durham. Ezra did cut his stay short with us as he fell sick with a fever and had to get back home after just two days. We have offered him his balance days he didn't use free of charge next time he finds himself in Durham. We would love to have him stay with us again.
I think this was our third time hosting Ezra, in town for some on-site time where he works. He's a genuinely nice, easy-going guy, but we we've been disappointed at how he left his room and bathroom at the end of the stay. Specifically, the toilet wasn't flushed, there was a fork with peanut butter on it left directly on an antique desk, and more peanut butter on the floor. There were also leaves and dirt in the bed, which I guess means he didn't take his shoes off.
We never expect guests to make the bed, do dishes, or clean any more than they would their own bedroom on an average day. We don't go into guest bedrooms and frankly don't care how messy it is during their stay. But we do expect a modicum of respect for our home in terms of how they leave the bedroom and bathroom in the end, and on that front we have been disappointed.
It's a shame; Ezra really is a friendly person to have around.
Always a pleasure to host Ezra!
It is always a pleasure to host Ezra. A fantastic guest. Make him an "instant book."
Ezra is a very pleasant and courteous young man. Although he stayed with us for a few days, we saw very little of him as he was out early and home late, however when we did see him he was very easy going and sociable. He even informed us of upcoming changes to airbnb. We would be happy to have him return as our guest.
Ezra is always a delight to host. Wonderful guest and wonderful person.
Always a pleasure to host Ezra when he comes to Durham!
