Having lived on Oak Island off and on for 25 years it always feels like home and I hope when you visit it will feel as welcoming to you as well. I currently live in the mountains of NC.

"Way Out" on Oak Island was worn and wonderful for our beginning of the New Year! This beach house is in a great location right on the beach and is a nice beach to walk. While it's true the house is not fancy, it was clean, furnished nicely, and had everything we needed. I loved the big dining table with benches and the little sitting area beside it, and the back deck was great to sit and eat or read or stare out at the water. Liz was easy to work with. She is friendly and responded quickly. I think the off season is a great time to go, and this is an affordable place to hopefully return to. Thank you Liz for sharing your place!
Both the house and Liz were great! Liz is super responsive over email and is very personable and helpful. The house is in a beautiful location and is very comfortable and well equipped. The winter season was relaxing and quiet, and you can walk for miles on the uninterrupted beach right out the back door or just sit on the porch and watch the waves. I loved it and would definitely consider going back.
My wife and I stayed in this house for her birthday weekend. It was a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful. Waking to the sight of the ocean every morning made the weekend. I would recommend this place to anyone. The owner was very helpful, and made the whole experience very easy.
Lovely beach community. Great ocean front place. Liz made accessing her house easy and provided a referral to a great massage therapist. The lunar eclipse from the deck was amazing!
The house is right on the beach and as a friend remarked when she saw a photograph, "looks just like a beach house should". Nothing fancy, which is how we like it! We were comfortable and had a great time. Its nice to be able to find a little house on the beach with amenities like AC and a washing machine. Best of all, my dogs could come with me, which made my vacation. We'd love to come back.
Liz is amazingly friendly, accommodating, and very helpful (the Bistro WAS fantastic, thank you for the recommendation). Everything was super easy and welcoming for me.
I came to Lenoir by myself for a writer's retreat. The apartment is cozy and charming with plenty of open space for relaxing. It's right in downtown Lenoir, so local flavor is just a block or two over. In addition to the Bistro, stop by Highland Coffee with your laptop in the mornings and say hello to Donald.
The city-provided WiFi can be a bit finicky, so have a backup plan if you're counting on Netflix. I recommend walking down to the local brewery and having a pint. Or two.
We loved Liz's cottage on the beach! You get a beautiful view from every window facing the ocean. The beach was quiet and not crowded at all. The house had everything we needed - comfortable beds, a washer and dryer, everything necessary in the kitchen to prepare meals. It was a wonderful, relaxing, long weekend. Thanks, Liz!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Liz's cottage! She made check in and out easy and was available and communicative every step of the way. Great host -- we will stay again.
Liz's place is right on the beach. The back porch affords endless views of the ocean, and a ten second walk to the beach. The sand dune nearly abuts the porch, so even though the beach is that close, it felt like our own private place. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. We'll surely be reaching out to Liz the next time we head to the Carolina coast.
The Cottage was exactly what we needed to have a fun and relaxing New Years vacation with the family. The cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 for couples and one with 4 bunk beds. the living room can easily fit 3 more people, but we didn't need it. we were 5 adults and 2 small dogs and we had a blast, ended up never leaving the Island.
The Location of the house is incredible, you can sip your morning coffee and watch dolphins swimming right next to the beach.
The only issue if was that Internet was slow, but that only meant more quality time with the family.
All in all, great location and cozy atmosphere, will definitely come back to the Wayout!
