feel free to ask me any questions:)
It was a pleasure staying at Lee-Anns. Even though she hasn't been around. Lee-And did everything that I can feel comfortable and helped me with any kind of problems. Also her friends Sharon and Jeanne helped me with directions and information. All in all: It is a nice place and I felt very well all the time. Thank you Lee-Ann. I hope to come back some time.
It was absolutely wonderful staying with Lee-Ann. She made a wonderful effort to make sure that I arrived at the room ok when I arrived at the train station. She was even gracious enough to introduce me to her friends upon arriving.
The room is in a very quiet and cozy neighborhood and is a traiditional japanese layout with some western flair. I really felt comfortable staying with Lee-Ann as she made every attempt to make me feel at home and I always received a quick response whenever I had a question.
If you need to be in this area of Tokyo Lee Ann's quaint room in higashi Kashiwa is a great place to stay!
Thank you, Lee, for those few days I've spent in your place. You've got exctly what I needed: japaneese style room which reminded me so much about my first apartment in Japan, tatami to seat and futon to sleep (and, yes, bento to eat).
Response from Lee-Ann:
Anton thank you, you are most welcome anytime:).
I booked with my friend accomodation and informed host one week up front about my arrival. The host replied me in day of my expected arrival that she is abroad and the keys will be left in mailbox and in apartment will be left instruction of using internet. But when we arrived to apartment there where no keys nor any message. We were trying to find the keys and hoped it is not a bad joke and knocked on the door of neighbours trying to figure out how to get in hired apartment that we paid for. After half an hour came a downstairs neighbour luckly with keys. But unfortunately that was only the begining of our dissatisfaction with provided accomodation.
In apartment there were no instruction how to use shower that worked on some different way of heating water and of course no internet access details.
We were supposed to sleep on futons that were full of hair without clean sheets to put on. At least we were not asked to bring our own sleeping bags but if I knew it before I would do that. The apartment was in general very messy, cold as there was only one heater (without usage instructions) and the heater was switching off automatically all the night.
To sum up the apartment was not worth of being provided as accomodation for two person in total prise of 47EUR/night.
My stay at Lee's was a depressing experience, as a number of things went wrong during the 18 day stay. I was locked out in the cold before checking in until after 12.30 at night and couldn't get hold of Lee by phone as her phone battery was flat . The gas supply was cut off for a week which meant I had to take showers with neighbours and they didn't always show up. I couldn't cook either during that time. The place was cold , so with no hot water supply and only freezing cold water on tap , it was pretty grim.
She did kindly try and make arrangements but the combination of these experiences and the long distance from Tokyo I wouldn't stay there again. Lee was generally helpful and I appreciated that she refunded my expenses that were incurred as a result of being locked out. I am sure this was not a typical week.
Well all I can say is that Lee-Ann is awesome and the room was great too :)
I enjoyed my stay at me casa es tu casa. It's in a quite community outside the big city.
The room is in a quiet, safe area. It was near a friend I was visiting for a wedding. I enjoyed staying in the room and using the Internet during my stay.
The place was just what we were looking for in our trip: away from the big city, providing that suburban feel, but close enough to things to be convenient. It's the kind of place to stay if you want a more off-the-beaten-path adventure in Tokyo and the surrounding area, commuting with the locals every day.
Warning to newcomers that it can be really difficult to find if you're not used to Japanese streets, especially at nighttime! Go prepared with very detailed directions.
Communication with Lee Ann was a little difficult since we anticipated Internet and it wasn't working at the time, but her roommate Grant was great in-person company, really helpful and accommodating.
Lee-Ann was and continues to be amazing. Her place is exactly as she described it, she was very responsive in the days leading up to coming here and she has been very helpful, giving uspointers and suggestions of places to visit. She even set us up with an appointment with the landlord to look at an open apartment in her building. She has become a friend to both me and my girlfriend. I recommend considering Lee-Ann's place to stay if you are in need!
It was great having Lee-Ann stay with us at the hostel... Come back soon!
Response from Lee-Ann:
Thank you soo much:)
Lee-ann was an exceptional guest,
left the property in a clean and well kept state
was easy to communicate with and made sure she updated me on changes.
