Joie was an excellent host! Even though she was away during our stay, she was very easy to get in touch with when we needed her. She was very personable and welcoming over the phone!
The cottage itself was exactly as described, and the pictures posted in the listing provide a very accurate representation of what to expect. The cottage is VERY tiny, but it was the perfect fit for my boyfriend and I to spend a cozy weekend in. Due to the size, I would not recommend more than 2 people stay here at a time. It was very clean, comfortable, and adorably decorated as a beach house I'd always envisioned in my head. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the cooking essentials we needed. Head's up though: there's no microwave, but there is a toaster oven available.
The location is great, too. The cottage is located on a main road, but its location behind a larger house provides an extra level of peace and privacy. There is a deli and fish market across the street, and the beautiful Cooper's Beach is a short drive away. I would stay here again!
I had such a great stay at Joie's spot and would thoroughly recommend it. It was perfect for what I needed: within walking distance of Penn and in a really lovely neighborhood. Chelsea Market really close by! Joie was very friendly and accommodating. Very respecting of space, and had everything that I could need provided for me. I was travelling alone and felt so safe and comfortable. The room and bathroom were so clean and tidy. She has a beautiful dog and cat, who both make the very small apartment feel so homely. It was really good value for the area and everything was as it was stated on Airbnb. If I was coming back to New York, I would definitely check availability at this listing.
My boyfriend and I wanted to get out of town for the weekend and didn't want to go far, and we were amazed to come across this little gem tucked away near Southampton. Though it appears as a tiny bungalow at first, it could not have more charm or feel more cozy. A hope, skip, and jump away from main street Southampton, we had plenty of things to do, including visiting the charming small movie theater and a night out at the local publick house. We even were snowed in one night, but there was no reason to leave with the fully-prepped kitchen and a few DVDs to watch. Furthermore, the owner was very accommodating and responded promptly when we needed. We're already planning on coming back to visit again during the summer months.
Exactly what I was looking for! Joie was very welcoming and provided every amenity I could ask for. I walked in to a clean room with drinking water, towels and a place to hang my clothes.
The apartment is in a great location and Joie had some great local advice.
Very comfortable bed; private; very accurate description. Warm on an extremely cold weekend! Will definitely come back!
A great little place in a lovely location! It was well equipped and comfortable. Plus it was very warm despite the very cold temperatures outside. Would definitely come again.
My girlfriend and I stayed at Joie's place the weekend after NYE and it was an ideal place for a weekend getaway from the city. It's small, but not cramped, while its less than 2 miles from the village of Southampton.
Joie was very responsive to all of our needs, questions, or issues, none that were really in her control.
Joie described the place perfectly and gave us an accurate description of what her apartment would be like. The neighborhood was great, and it was very close to amazing restaurants and tons of other things to do.
Great location. Great host. Comfy bed. Lot's of privacy. Very accurate description. Will definitely come back!
The location was perfect for me. Everything stated was available. The building is safe and clean. The apartment is very quiet. She has a dog, perhaps a cat, which caused no concern. The host, like I am, is an animal rights activist, which, in my eyes gives her the highest score.
The bedroom was adequate, but a little warm, if door is not left open a bit. I did not get the chance to tell Joie. Both of us were real busy.
I'm not sure about the "breakfast" part because I had my own food. Joie is only 2 blocks from 16th and 5th Avenue where I have family living. I could not have asked for a better location.
Had I a need to go back to Manhattan, I would not hesitate to contact Joie via AirBNB.
Very understanding guests

Joie is great!! She would be welcome here anytime!!
Joie has the best place in the West Village, Her apartment is beautifully decorated very clean, the guest room is perfect for a couple, the bathroom is big and sparkling clean, she also has the best puffy soft towels! I stay there when attending trade shows at the Javits Center, since she's west it is very easy to get on the highway, surrounded by tons of amazing restaurants, if going to NY the West Village is the place to be... And her apartment the place to stay.
