warm，comfortable and convenient place
The house is very well situated in town center next to the city walls, close to all turistic attractions. House is big and everything was organised, even tips where to go, city map or free tickets. Even though we met Jelle when we were leaving, the communication was very good.
Had a lovely stay in York, the room was indeed quiet (lovely and peaceful in fact!) and cosy, clean with a great hospitality tray. Would recommend to anyone wanting somewhere chilled out to stay in York.
I come from Malaysia and went to Nottingham in UK with my two daughters to visit my two sons who are studying in the University of Nottingham. During our stay in Nottingham we decided to make a short trip to York. Myself and my two daughters stayed at Bella's room in Jelle's house during our 2 days 1 night trip to York. When we arrived in York I followed the instruction given by Jelle to his house. The instruction was very clear and when we arrived at his house, Jelle was at home to receive us. He was very friendly and gave us some suggestion on how we can plan our visit in York since our trip is a short trip. I took his suggestion and during our 2 days in York we managed to visit a lot of attraction places. The location of the house is very close to all the attractions. Bella's room is also very clean and warm as it was during winter time when we visited York. We had a very good night sleep before we continue our exploration the next day. Even though our encounter with Jelle is very short but it was indeed very sweet. I would certainly recommend Jelle's house for those looking for a place to stay when visiting York.
Jelle was very nice, providing good advice and info about York and helping me store my luggage for a few more hours after I checked out.
The room was cozy and the tea and biscuits were a nice touch. The location was good, close to the station, the city centre and the wall.
great room and very welcoming host!the house locates in city center, convenient to walk to both railway station and the minster.a very happy experience!
Fabulous location just inside the city walls and within easy walking distance of most anything in York: city centre, rail station, grocery stores, and restaurants. Jelle is a pleasant and accommodating host who has lots of information about York available in a binder in your room. And if socializing with like-minded travelers appeals to you, the house lets out a couple rooms so you may meet others passing through while you're there. Would gladly stay here again.
A quiet and cosy place to stay. A big booklet of tourist information and recommendations was provided in the room. I really enjoyed my stay in York. Thanks Jelle!
We received detailed instructions beforehand on the location and easy to find the house. The location is perfectly located almost at the end of the old city walls, along it we can walk to York Minster. The room is clean and the bed is cosy, we have a very good sleep at that night. Jelle is very nice, we can find detailed instruction of the facilites, the tourist guide and restraurant information. tea, coffee, biscuit are provide within the room. all in one, we enjoyed our stay very much.
An excellent trip with a lovely stay in Jelle's home! Perfect location with just 10 minutes walk to either York railway station or city centre. We stay in Bella's room on 14 Feb, it is a large and warm room with a view of the city wall. Jelle gave us a warm welcome and everything in his home was very clean and tidy. Thanks Jelle we have a nice weekend and will stay again when visit York. Highly recommend!
Jelle stayed for 2 nights with us to meet family here in the Netherlands. It's a nice guy with whom it was interesting to talk about his Dutch background and the fact that he is also a host (in York, England). Recommendable, supposing he's as good a host as a guest. And why not.
jelle booked for phil who was in york for work purposes.Phil is a lovely warm and charming man and it was interesting to meet him he is very hard working and motivated
Jelle and his 8 year old daughter Belle, were our very first airbnb guests! They had booked on the first night we had registered! We couldn't have had better guests! Jelle is very relaxed and easy going and bella is a very sweet well behaved girl. Jelle was very clear in his email about the purpose of his trip and their itinerary, which gave me a good feeling of trust. When they got back from dinner we had a really nice chat with a nice cup of fresh mint tea. They where also very easy to please with breakfast, they where just hanging out for a traditional Dutch sandwich topping, 'Hagelslag' (chocolate sprinkles) Luckily we had just stocked up on it! We would gladly have them stay again!
Jelle and little Bella were great guests. The communication before and during the stay was clear. They were very respectful to the house and clean and tidy.
