I fell in love with the mountains and decided to move here.
Life Motto: Slow and steady wins the race
My brother and I had a wonderful experience staying at the Mountain View. Although it was one of the coldest parts of the year, we loved the location and privacy as well as the surrounding mountains. A quick trip up the road and you are in the highest mountain range this side of the Mississippi. Valaree was prompt in all communications and a great host even though we never had the chance to meet. Highly recommend this Airbnb!
We had a great time at Valeree's. Thanks a bunch! Our only issue was the water, the scent of sulphur was very strong. We ended up purchasing our own bottled water in jugs and using it the entire time- I'd recommend this to next visitors. The house is closely located to grocery stores and perfect distance to Penland School of Crafts as well as Asheville, Weaverville and Black Mountain. We had a great visit, thanks!
We booked this home the day before our stay and everything was perfect! My dad and I just needed a quiet little place to stay for the night. We slept well, it was nice and warm and everything was just as pictured. We would love to come back when it's warmer and enjoy the back deck more which looks awesome!
Great experience with a lovely view.
Enjoyed our 3 night stay at this quaint and cozy cabin. Unfortunately we experienced much rain during our stay so were unable to explore the surrounding nature as originally planned. There is a lot of construction in the town of Burnsville, appearing as if they are trying to revive areas and accommodate more people. With this being said, I would not expect much for dining out. We found many of the local spots were only open during certain days of the week or were closed for the season. There is a very nice grocery story about 5 miles away where we found options to cook dinner at the cabin. Expect a quite, relaxing vacation when traveling here :)
Very nice place. Had a great time!
Overall a great stay. Place was as described. View was a little more narrow than in the pictures, but I do Vacation Rental marketing in Florida so I get that struggle and it was still gorgeous. There was a cleanliness issue that was brought up and Valeree offered a credit for us cleaning it up so that was much appreciated. Great communication. We'd stay there again if in the area.
Our visit was short but lovely! Leading up to our last minute stay, Valeree was very helpful with recommendations for nearby food. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. We slept in what appeared to be the master. The second bedroom had the toilet in the bedroom which was unusual, but we got a kick out of it. The loft would be a blast for kids. We would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend to our friends. I just wish we had been able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and comfort for longer than 12 hours. Thank you to a great host.
Having decided rather belatedly to stay somewhere outside of Asheville for the evening, we stumbled across this listing. The location was ideal for us, given that it was farther into the mountains. Also, the view in the morning was quite lovely.
Before arrival the host informed us that there was a mix up and the unit had not yet been cleaned, but offered us a $10 credit if we still wanted to stay. She also gave us recommendations for breakfast/hiking locations in the nearby area.
Upon arrival, we managed to find our way in, but had some difficulty with setting up the various heaters. Being from Florida, we weren't exactly prepared for being chilly indoors. So we set up a number of the heaters, at which point we flipped the breaker. It was well after midnight at this point, but we contacted the host, and she did eventually get back with us despite the late hour.
Other than having to artfully arrange the heaters in order to stay warm in the meantime using all of the outlets which were still working, the night was pleasant. The kitchen, despite being slightly cramped, was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare the food we had brought for breakfast.
While we probably won't be back in this area again, we had an overall positive experience. Thanks!
The house was great. It had a beautiful view of the mountains and a fireplace that added to the coziness. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was also a washer and dryer.
Valerie called us while we were at the local grocery store and brought us a big blanket because there was a cold snap coming through. How nice!
The surrounding area of the town was a little disappointing, as there was a lot of construction along the roads.
