We stayed at Valeree's lovely cottage for one night on our way from from the beach. I wish we'd had longer! It was very cute and was perfect for me, my husband, and our two small dogs. We spent the evening enjoying dinner on the gorgeous deck with beautiful views. Valeree was very friendly and helpful and the house had everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here!
Valeree's place in Burnsville is simple and wonderful. Plenty of space, comfy beds, full kitchen, amazing deck and view toward the green mountains from the back. Valeree was very responsive to any requests. If you are going to Burnsville for beautiful peace and quiet, this is the place!
Valeree was fantastic. I have the tendency to ask a million questions and she happily answered ever one. I was only able to stay for a night (and in reality long enough to shower and sleep) because I was in the area for a friend's wedding, but the place was better than expected. Very cute. Very well cleaned. And just as the pictures advertised. Except the view, the view is always better in person. It was a great experience and I sincerely wish we had more time to explore the area.
The host Valaree was awesome and so nice. It was simply a pleasure to stay here.
The title of this listing says it all, mountain view with a deck. It can only be improved by adding the words gorgeous (mountain view) and awesome (deck). We unfortunately did not have the chance to meet with Valeree, but the property was great. Indoors it was a little dated in terms of furniture, but that doesn't matter, you should be on the deck!
We had a lovely stay at Valeree's cottage! The view from the deck is as amazing as on the photo, and the surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently close to grocery stores, hiking trails, Navitat (we went ziplining). The cottage is cozy and nice, equipped with all you might need for a longer stay - and you can enjoy making fire in the evening in the fire pit on the deck. Valeree responded really quickly to all my questions and requests and was very helpful. Thank you very much, Valeree for letting us stay at your cottage! We'd love to come back again next time we are in NC.
The cottage had a huge wrap-around deck with views just as nice as described, and we enjoyed using the fire put and charcoal grill in the evenings. It was enjoyable to have books, games and a good cable TV selection when it rained. Our host left notes around the house to explain everything and it was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and have added this to our favorites list for future mountain trips!
Valeree's home was perfect for my fiance and me. We stayed there two nights after doing two mountain hikes. The house was clean and the instructions were posted well in sight. House rules were easy to follow. The deck was amazing with mountain views, forest, and blue skies. Couldn't have (email hidden) for the price.
We really enjoyed our min-vacation getaway at Valeree's mountain oasis. My husband and I stayed Friday evening through Sunday morning and appreciated the comforts of home with a mountain view. The deck is HUGE and we spent lots of time there sitting in the sun and our dog Jupiter loved running around the yard and deck area. You do have occasional road noise, but it is infrequent and not disturbing to any activity you are doing. We did have to bring work with us on this vacation, and the wi-fi can be a little sporadic at times. However, for anyone on vacation that won't be a major issue. We made do and took it as a sign we needed to get out and explore instead of being chained to a work area. The house is located in Burnsville, quiet and small and locals are friendly. We took a few day trips to Hot Springs and Asheville and loved the convenience of being so close and having a quiet retreat to return to in the evening. We were absolutely charmed by the woodburning stove in the house and used it two nights in a row as the spring mountain evenings were a little chilly. Would recommend if you are staying more than a night, plan on more than one bundle of firewood, if you plan on using the wood stove OR firepit. Valeree graciously provided one large bundle at check-in and was very helpful suggesting additional bundles at Ingles (just $5 - you can't beat that price) if we wanted more. Such hospitality! The bedrooms are cozy and the portable heaters work well if you need them - we relied on the wood stove and that kept us toasty. The kitchen is perfect - newer appliances and accessibility - however, be vigilant with the stove. Directions say not to run it hot and that is the truth. I managed just fine on low settings - you can tell other guests may have not heeded the warnings! We loved the helpful hints around the house, you were not left wondering about any quirks or things you may need during your stay. LOVED Valeree's attention to detail pre-stay with helpful emails and directions, during our stay she checked in to make sure we were ok and was very polite and courteous to help but not be overbearing. Post-visit we were able to communicate effectively. My husband and I would love to return as it was convenient to many favorite parts of NC we love. Thank you Valeree!!!
Valeree has an awesome home to stay at if you are ever in this area. Beautiful views, peaceful neighbors and the ability to have an entire home in the hills of North Carolina. Great access point for hiking, Ashville, Black Mountain... if I ever go back to this area, I would try to get this place first.
