My wife and I stayed with Andrew and his wife at their rental house March 2014 for a week. It was as described and very nice. The satellite TV service is not yet hooked up but the internet is free and unlimited. It is a brand new little house and Andrew is still outfitting it and improving on the little things as guests make suggestions. Andrew and his wife were extremely pleasant and eager to please and help out. They have two friendly dogs that will visit if you like dogs. The kitchen is small and basic but has a full size fridge and a gas stove and oven which we found very useful. 7 minute walk to the beach so a car is not essential. Well stocked supermarket is just down the road another 5 to 10 minutes ( we had a car so I did not make that walk ). Ceiling fans in all the rooms make a huge difference and we found it cooled down at night. I suspect it is much cooler and fresh than being right in town. Quality orthopedic mattress in both rooms. As well it is very quiet and peaceful. About 5 minutes to downtown PV by car ( at bicycle speed ). I understand taxis are cheap and there were lots available as well as lots of bike rentals in the area. We would not hesitate to return or recommend this rental from Andrew and his wife.
My husband and I stayed at Andrew's guest house for a week over the Christmas break and ringing in 2014. This house is perfect for those who want to experience both the jungle and the beach, as both are walking distance. Andrew was a wonderful host and was very accommodating. There is a flat screen TV in one of the rooms with a DVD player. Although we weren't interested in watching TV, I was sick for about 3 days and Andrew lent us his computer to watch more movies. We like to make blended drinks and so he brought us down a blender. As a bonus there is a washer and dryer! We loved hanging out on the front porch, playing cards, and listening to nature. Andrew runs a wonderful restaurant called Chili Rojo (even when we asked locals where we should eat, they pointed us to his restaurant!) It's delicious and from the sushi to the tacos everything was yummy! (We live in San Francisco and know good food). He goes there a lot and when our schedules matched up, he would take us into town with him. (It's walking distance but sometimes I was lazy). Cab rides back are $4. He has only recently begun his Airbnb, and was really open to suggestions. He was so quick to help with whatever he could. He has two super sweet dogs, a funny little goat, and a very kind wife. The place would be great for a single traveller, a couple or two close friends traveling. Also a couple with a small child would be fine too. The walls do not go all the way up in the rooms/ bathroom so you would be able to hear each other. This is a great spot to come back to and relax, unless you are looking to veg out on a sofa and just watch TV. This is more of a place to sit on the porch, hike nature, make your meals, and sleep to the sound of the animals. We very much enjoyed our stay and our hosts. Thank you for all your kindness, attentiveness, and overall welcoming selves. We would go back in a heartbeat!
