Our host was consistently and immediately responsive to all our questions, starting before our trip and throughout. The Art Pad is just as it appears in the picture, even better. It's airy, loads of natural light, comfortable, clean and more than spacious for 2 people. The kitchen is fully equipped, as is the bathroom. Washer and dryer was a huge bonus, given our long stay. There's plenty of information available about local eateries and such. Loved the neighborhood-- easy walking in every direction, and you don't need to go far from the Pad to find a great place to eat. We enjoyed every minute of our stay!
Great first airbnb experience! Marina was an absolute pleasure and helped make my stay enjoyable. The apartment was clean and well kept. I will certainly be back!
Patrick! I thought I put a couple of cans of mineral water in there (which I somehow prefer to plastic bottles), with a couple of beers, but I will make sure to double check next time. Thank you for the feedback!
The Art Pad is a well appointed studio near Goat Hill (few blocks away) and Noe Valley (a pleasant 15-minute walk to 24th with many restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques). It's a home away from home with nothing wanting from dishes, full size frig, W/D, cutlery, pots, pans, tea kettle, cutting boards, soap...well, you get the picture. Plenty of space, and if vegging on the sofa watching TV is your thing, you have all the cable channels you could want. Complimentary internet. Marina was a very welcoming hostess and had great recommendations for eateries, grocery stores and walks nearby. Easy access to 280 if you are having to travel to destinations outside the city during your stay. Parking in San Francisco can be challenging, but we were able to find a spot nearby when we had to move the car over our two-night stay. Safe neighborhood. Pet friendly. Would rebook.
Marina is a wonderful hostess! The Art Pad is in a quiet, comfortable neighborhood and the apartment itself is very well equipped with everything one could ask for, as well as clean and very comfortable. Marina has thought of everything!
I was really impressed with the kitchen....this is definitely a place one can stay for an extended period and be very comfortable with cooking in. Also, the bed is VERY comfortable.
We heartily recommend Marina's Art Pad and would stay there again!
Marina’s Art Pad studio is indeed a Noe Valley gem. For anyone looking to stay in and experience this neighborhood, I highly recommend it.
Marina is a great host. This is reflected in the care and attention to detail she applied to Art Pad’s design, decoration and furnishings. Light-filled and colorful, the Art Pad is a great place to stay and work in. It’s an oasis that is also connected to the city.
I will be recommending the Art Pad to my family and friends.
Amenities: The Studio includes these helpful items -- a stove top range, washer and dryer set, a refrigerator and plenty of closet space.
Connection to SF: The studio is a block away from the J-Church, a municipal (Muni) rail line that connects to downtown SF and other public transportation.
Sound: I seldom heard Marina’s family. When I did hear her family, I didn’t notice the sound. It was background sound for me. The studio is street level. You can hear the ambient city sounds and the occasional pedestrians walking by, but in general it’s quiet, and I like the sensory connection to the Noe Valley neighborhood that the Art Pad provides.
For context on my perspective: I live in SF and prefer the ambient city sounds as well as a building that is inhabited and those reminders that people are around us vs. the silence one might encounter in a hotel room.
Noe Valley: There are great food options within walking distance. Bom Dia Market, a revitalized corner store, is a couple blocks away and serves coffee, espresso and take out breakfast food. They also have plenty of locally-sourced, high quality groceries and wine. Noeteca is a charming corner restaurant that serves lunch and dinner. It’s a also nice place to enjoy a casual glass of wine. La Ciccia is a Sicilian restaurant. Hop onto the J-Church or walk to 24th Street (Noe’s main corridor) and you will find Contigo (an excellent Spanish restaurant), Chocolate Covered (what may literally be the best chocolate store in the US), David’s Tea, Whole Foods, Plumpjack Wine, Noe Valley Wine, One Medical, Walgreen’s and everything else you need.
Nature: San Francisco is filled with small parks and nature preserves. From the Art Pad you can walk to Billy Goat Hill to enjoy nature and a great view of the city. If you want to keep climbing, you can walk on calm streets to the Walter Haas Park.
The Mission, the Castro and Glen Park: Noe Valley is contiguous with these neighborhoods. Valencia Street and the Mission / Dolores area are a quick J-Church or rideshare ride away.
Silicon Valley: For people that need to go to Palo Alto and other peninsula locations, the Art Pad is close to access points for highways 280 and 101. For example, if you're not driving during prime commuting hours, it takes about 35 minutes to get to Sand Hill Road on highway 280.
Great area, and perfekt host!
Marina was very gracious responsive before and throughout my entire stay. The "pad" was exceptionally clean and fresh, light and airy, and looked just like the pictures. I did sleep with the windows open and noticed some neighborhood traffic noise through the night, but not really anything out of the ordinary and closing windows probably would have eliminated it. There was an issue with AirB&B whereby the place wasn't located where it was shown on the map (it was about 20 blocks away!) which I've been told AirB&B has now corrected. That was my only problem so I would just recommend confirming the proximity to where you want to be with Marina before booking. Other than that, it was a beautiful place and Marina was a gracious hostess, I would highly recommend the Art Pad.
Thank you Scott! I loved having you guys, and it prompted the correction of the location for the ArtPad--now correctly showing up as being in Noe Valley!
Marina was very welcoming and the place was immaculate! I immediately felt at home and loved my stay here. Beautifully designed studio in a safe area, and within walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Marina was super easy to communicate with, and met us promptly at the agreed upon time to hand off keys and show us around.
The space is very clean, well-taken-care-of, with ikea furnishings throughout. Street parking was relatively easy to find (for SF) and we were able to find a spot within a few blocks every time.
The kitchen is spacious and pleasant, and the beds are soft with good pillows. Very pleasant sleep.
We enjoyed this air bnb very much and would consider staying here again. Overall very solid.
Room for improvement: Upstairs neighbors were stomping around pretty hard starting around 7AM which might not be ideal for many guests, and the walls are pretty thin. So you can easily hear things going on outside while trying to sleep. To be fair though, it's a very quiet neighborhood and very few things are going on outside.
Mom and daughter arrived after a long boring drive per Marina but only to enjoy the rest time here.
It was a pleasure to host them and hope they would return someday.
Thank you for the nice comments in our guest book.
Marina and her daughter are so lovely. What a wonderful time having them here. Sorry they arrived so late and could have enjoyed it more but so nice to meet them and I really hope they come back for an extended stay.
Marina is a very nice person! Very friendly and lovely, always polite and respectful. Anything but boring. We hope to meet her again in the future. Highly recommended!
