Very lovely houses and surrounding area. 5 minutes walk to the city center. Alex and Paul were really nice host.
The Bird House is a very welcome and friendly place to stay. Alex and Paul make you feel comfortable. You have your own bathroom and a good room. I strongly recommend it. And take a time to visit Bristol, it is a pleasure.
Alex was very welcoming and charming. The house is very pretty with a garden at the back. It is unmistakable with its wapp painting in a nicely funky part of Bristol, The People's Republic of Stone Croft.
When I got there Alex was so welcoming, she made sure I had everything I needed. She helped me out by giving me details for the local taxi company and gave me a tour of the house. As she was going away for the weekend I didn't see her after that but felt comfortable in the house. She has a really unique house full of her artwork which was great to look at. The room was big and the bed comfy. I drove and managed to park on the roads nearby easily. The only thing I would say is the road outside was noisy until the early hours of the morning so if you're a light sleeper this could be an issue. Otherwise this was a great stay at a really reasonable price. Thanks Alex!
Host made us feel very welcome very easy going and informative about the area
The Bird House is one of a kind and it was a very unique experience to stay here. We now know what our future dream home will look like! The Bird House is filled with character and very charming, it is lovingly decorated with so much art and the most incredible collection of books. Alex is a superb host and makes you feel right at home. She is very warm & welcoming and great for a chat about the local area and its history & culture and she is able to offer plenty of useful advice & recommendations. It is quite special to spy Alex's murals adorning the nearby streets and seeking them out is an ideal way to explore the close by Montpelier, Stokes Croft & Old City. It was tremendously inspiring to be surrounded by so much creativity & talent and we felt our stay at The Bird House perfectly captured the essence of Bristol. It is a treasured memory and we hope to return again soon to make many more. This is truly airbnb at its absolute finest.
We had a fantastic time staying at Alex's Birdhouse. Alex, was a welcoming host and made us feel very at ease. The Birdhouse is in the perfect location, with fab restaurants on the doorstep! I would recommend staying here to everyone!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Bird House! Sited in Montpelier, you get easy access to lots of great cafes, restaurants and street art. The House itself was lovely; the room looks even nicer in person and you'd probably want to Instagram it ;) Alex was super friendly and easily contactable. Highly recommend this listing to prospective guests!
Such an adorable place to stay. It was spotless, excellent amenities (good shower, lots of hot water, comfortable bed). Alex was charming and helpful and it really did feel like a home away from home. Her house is an artistic haven and delight tucked away in an artistic street in Stokes Croft - easy to walk everywhere and see the sights. Loved my stay here and would definitely go back.
We stayed at the Birdhouse,Montpelier on 7th - 9th March 2015.We found the host,Alex , to be charming, approachable and friendly. The room was clean and warm, with a very comfortable
bed,so we both slept very well. The house itself is beautifully decorated in a funky artistic way, befitting of our host, who works locally as an artist (she painted the front of the house herself a few years ago.Montpelier itself is close enough to the City centre to walk there (which we did) and has numerous trendy and alternative eating places and bars within a stones' throw. Thanks Alex for a lovely weekend break at the Birdhouse.
Alex, her boyfriend and Mum were all delightful and very appreciative. Highly recommended and as Alex has her own Airbnb in Bristol we know just where to stay - and she's a Superhost!
Alex was a fantastic guest! She took care of the house as if it was her own and on her last day, though it is done by us anyway, she couldn't stop herself to store the used bed linen and towels in the bin (as she is used to do it in her own airbnb home! ;-)). The apartment was left virtually as it was when she arrived. Very friendly, well educated, autonomous and easy going people. I can only warmly recommend her to everyone! Hope to see her again in the future - at her place or at mine! Thanks again!
Very nice couple!!
Friendly people and tidy and clean guests..It was a pleasure to host them!
I definitely recommend them!
I've known Alex for quite a few years now. We share a studio together and we have just set up an art gallery and gift shop together. Alex is an amazing person, full of energy and charisma. She is kind, easy to talk to and very caring, this lady will go out of her way to help you. She is also an extremely talented illustrator and designer and you are in for a treat staying at her beautiful home. The house is filled with lots of art work and quirky little trinkets from around the globe. Alex is a dear friend and I would recommend anyone to stay in her amazing house, the garden is pretty outstanding.
