- Bonjour ,
je ne souhaite pas vraiment me décrire . . . . .
We will remember our stay with Jean Claude forever.
He was an amazing, welcoming host. We arrived late and interrupted a semi-formal banquet that he was hosting, but he was excited to see us and was eager to show us to our "chambers" after introducing us to everyone in the banquet hall.
Jean Claude is doing an amazing job restoring an enchanted chateaux. He offered us breakfast in bed, but the weather was so beautiful that we ate outside instead. We loved his personal tour and couldn't learn enough about the exciting history. But I won't ruin the surprises: come and hear yourself.
We can't wait to come back in a few years and see his restoration progress!
I cannot reccommend the hospitality and the beauty of The King's Chamber enough. Greated by Jean Claude after a 6 hour drive with a bottle of wine and freshly picked peaches to relax with him & his beautiful dog Hermione - heaven!
This is the sort of stay that makes airbnb a cut above any boutique hotel, as it offers an experience. The small hamlet of Veuil is also qwerky with modern art sculptures in people's gardens.
Thank you Jean Claude for such generosity and fun.
We were recommended The King's Chamber by 2 friends who stayed a few years back, and sure enough, it proved a unique and thoroughly indulgent experience. Jean Claude has created a little medieval oddity in the Southern Loire Valley - a high end hotel room in the middle of a magnificent ruins which he is painstakingly recreating over the years. We hope to return in 10 years to see how much further he's got with his fantastic project. Highly recommended - there's nothing quite like it.
Jean Claude is a wonderful host and the castle is an amazing place to stay at. We enjoyed listening to stories while drinking wine in the park.
Very accommodating on arrival and departure time...
The breakfast and home made jams are to die for.
Seriously, do yourself a favor, stay there!
The room is just incredible!!!!
We had a wonderful stay with excellent breakfast service and a tour through the castle which made it really unforgettable to us thanks to our attentive and wonderful host Jean-Claude!
We would love to come back!
Jean Claude was the most wonderful host, as others have attested. His chateau is simply spectacular and he went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed, included a bottle of wine. If you're travelling through the region then it is a must!
Wonderful experience in a real (email hidden)mply magical!. jean Claude is a warm, attentive and knowledgeable host. He was exemplary - brought us his own home made marmelade, made us feel special and I agree that he should be voted best BNB host!
We were delighted to meet him and hope we can return soon.
Highly recommend this as a historical experience exceeding our expectations.
Jean Claude is the best host in the world! Matt and I had the most magical evening at le Chateua de Veil which was stunning and steeped in history. The room (le chambre du roi) had been renovated to 5* hotel standard and could not be faulted: very comfortable bed, lovely views, and beutifully designed bathroom. Jean Claude should win best airbnb host 2011! Thank you so so much again and we look forward to returning.
