I loved my stay at this apartment! I was in Banja Luka for two months working at the centre of town and the apartment was a 10 nice walk away. Set in a peaceful quiet local area with a bakery and a food shop across the road, this apartment was in a great location.
Some days I had to work from home and I never had issues with the wi-fi connection. The apartment had everything I needed to live comfortably for two months.
Sanja was really helpful and met me in the night time when I arrived. She also responded to my texts quickly and called me to check if I needed anything a few weeks in.
If you want a great little apartment, close to the town, with little home comforts (like a great sofa and a big tv); this apartment is for you!
This wasn't the most pleasant experience we had on AirBnb so far, but overall it was okay, especially considering the price.
We arrived a little later than expected, since we didn't anticipate standing in line for an hour at the Bosnian border. Sanja was very nice and not mad at us, but we felt that we were rushed through all the instructions and neighborhood tips, so we didn't remember anything we were told really (it would have been more helpful if this was written down somewhere for reference.)
We had a mixed feeling about the neighborhood the apartment is in. It's not nice, rather run down, it feels outskirt-y. Sketchy people lingering around the street and shouting during night hours. One time a VW full of sketchy guys stopped next to us and waived a paper at us. We said we didn't understand, so they cursed something about "American people" and drove off. Needless to say, we didn't always feel safe. On the bright side, the apartment is about a 15 minute walk from the city center, and since there is nothing worth mentioning in terms of restaurants or bars nearby, this is what you will end up doing a lot.
The apartment is cute and clean, and I found the bed was very comfortable. However, there were two things which are total no-go's for me: it smelled of stale cigarette smoke everywhere (there was an ashtray, so smoking seems to be ok here), and there is NO WIFI. We were a bit dumbstruck to learn that, and Sanja rightfully pointed out that it's not listed under "amenities", but seriously, it's 2015, the absence of any internet connection during travel is a major bummer and should be explicitly pointed out in the listing. So should have been that this is a smoking apartment. I wouldn't have booked this place had I known any of this. (Fortunately, WiFi coverage around the city is decent, but having to check in to your flight on a park bench is really not cool. Also, Bosnia is not in the EU, so forget about booking a EU data pack for your cellphone, it won't work.)
Overall I would say: if you don't rely on a WiFi connection, and if you don't care about the neighborhood too much and that it's a smoker's apartment, then it's a good deal. Otherwise I'd look elsewhere.
Great host, very clean apartment jus 5-10 min. walking from main popular street (gospodska ulica) in Banja Luka. We will come again !
Very friendly and uncomplicated host. Cozy and spacious apartment near the center
Sanja was great, at our service for what ever we needed and the apartment was as shown on the pictures, very close to city center, no issues whatsoever. :)
The apartment has got everything you might need for a short stay. It's best for one person, maximum two. The kitchen is basic, but it is still not a problem to cook something simple.
The centre is 10 minutes away by foot. There you can find a lot of cafes with surprisingly good coffee in most of them.
A bakery and a 24-hour shop are in 3-minutes walking distance.
Sanja keeps everything super tidy, so you will just love the feeling of comfort and calmness after a long journey.
We (me and my friend) had a great time at the apartment of Sanja. She is a lovely host and helps wherever she can. The apartment is located in the centre of the town, close to everything (market, shops, bars, etc.).
We would go back there anytime again.
Sanja ist eine super nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeberin. Die Wohnung ist wenige Minuten vom Zentrum entfernt.
This apartment is great for a short stay in Banja Luka. It's very well located for Banja Luka's restaurants and bars, and while it's on the small side it's ideal for one or two people.
Colin and his wife were the perfect airbnb guest, a real pleasure to host them. I would highly recommend Colin and his wife to all airbnb hosts and would happily host them again. Thanks.
Uncomplicated host. Comfortable and clean appartment with two
rooms. Very central, about 10 minutes on foot to the pedestrian zone.
Thanks Sanja ! By the way: If you go to Sarajevo or Zagreb, don't hesitate
to visit this part of Bosnia (Republika Srpska, Serbian Republic).
Sanja stayed at our place with her friends and I must say they were wonderful guests! I would definitely recommend them to any other host.
Sanja and her collegues were very kind, house was clean like new. They visited Verona just for a couple of hour so i hope they enjoyed a lot for a future trip. One of her friend spoke italian very well so it was easier. Beautiful and recommended hosts
