Wendy was a great host, house was everything as described. Would definitely recommend this house and will return.
The house was absolutely perfect and well stocked for everything needed!
Lovely hosts, and home, WAY out in the country! Watch out for the hundreds of DEER, as you come down through the valley. Andover is the land that time forgot, no stucco retail box stores, or chain restaurants anywhere! If your looking to escape the rat race, this place is perfect! Well stocked with everything you could need, even fire wood, heck the fridge had 2 kinds of beer, and a full freezer. Only disappointment was accessibility, very steep stairs, and multi level construction, tough if your chair bound. The downstairs bath has a standard tub with no inside grab bars. A few grab bars here and there are nice, but its not chair friendly!
Wow! What a great find. I went to NY at the end of June to visit family and this place was in the perfect location. Even better, the house was wonderful. The owners were more than gracious and were always available if we needed them. The kitchen and house was stocked with everything you would expect and more. I have a 2yr-old and the house was very child-friendly, they even had Disney DVD's and little kid dishes in the kitchen. I would definitely stay here again, I have even recommended it to my family members who will also be likely visiting the area in the future. Thanks again Wendy!!!
I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. Wendy and her husband went out of their way to accommodate my family and me. My grandmother was passing and we were called to say our final goodbyes. I was in Florida at the time and we were frantically trying to make travel plans and hotel accommodations. Due to non-availability at the hotel in Hornell we looked to air bnb for alternatives. We are so thankful we stumbled upon a listing for this property. We sent a message to Wendy and within minutes she replied. Her communication is fast and friendly.
Four adults and three children stayed at Wendy’s home for a week. Although the reason for our visit to the area was difficult this property provided stability and a warm place to call home. My parents, sister, myself and our children live in separate states, so that fact that we were all under one roof, together for a week made it very enjoyable and it felt like home.
The property has a full, fully stocked kitchen where we spent every night cooking and sitting around their large dining room table together. There is a large covered porch with a grill and outdoor seating. The view of the country is beautiful. From the front porch you can see horses and alpacas.
The bedrooms are large and sleep multiple people. There are two full bathrooms in the home. There is also a washer and dryer, which came in very handy since we had three children in the house. The living room has a television and plenty of seating.
We genuinely enjoyed our stay at this property and highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the area. Perfect for families visiting for graduation or a wedding. Being able to stay with my family in a home, rather than segregated into small rooms at a hotel made this trip much more enjoyable.
Wendy and her husband are very helpful and accommodating. You can’t beat the gorgeous view of the country and quiet, peaceful appeal of the property. I live in Boston, so this home was a much-appreciated break from city living. Whatever your reason for visiting, this home will meet your needs and you’ll be glad you stayed. Thank you Wendy for lending us your home for the week. It made all the difference in the world.
The host went above and beyond what we expected. Wendy was an absolute doll. We were not well prepared for the rain and snow, Wendy was kind enough to let me borrow a nice warm rain coat. She provided information on the area, and her husband brought us an extra gas tank for grilling just in case we ran out. The house was perfectly accommodating and had everything we needed. We were able to grill out for dinner and make breakfast at the house. The house is located on a country road (which we loved) and only a few minutes to Dollar General. The entire experience with the house, the host, and the area was outstanding. We were able to get some much needed quiet time, r&r and enjoyed some quality time with our son. We all felt very much at home and thoroughly enjoyed our short time there and didn't want to leave.
Wendy and her adult daughter were absolutely wonderful guests! Very neat and tidy, they left no trace of ever having used the kitchen. They're kind, interesting, pleasant and enjoyable. I would welcome them back in an instant and recommend them to other hosts with absolutely no hesitation. Thank you for your visit, come back soon!
