We're excited to be sharing our new house with you all! We're two young professionals, interested in current affairs, biking, hiking and BBQing! We also love to travel -- to exotic destinations around DC, the US and the world. :)

Odette and Matt are quite simply awesome. The house is lovely, the bed is like a dream. Brookland has a great Arts Walk, and is super-convenient with the red line nearby. Stay here!
I had an absolutely lovely stay at Odette and Matt's house. They were gracious and considerate hosts and after arriving to America and knowing nobody it was great to encounter such nice and friendly people. And of course Cosmo the cat is an excellent feature of the house! The house is really well located and the metro and bus stop is only a short walk away as are some charming bars and restaurants.
Odette and Matt are really good hosted and hostress! They gave us a lot of help in finding the shops, restaurants and sights of seeing. The location is great, near metro, near grocery, near shops......We made it at home, and yes! Matt taught me to make my first cake! Love the variety of juices, sauces, cooking tools! It seems you can cook any meal all over the world! And besides, the cat is very quite, and extremely clever!
Many thanks to you, Odette and Matt!
Odette and Matt's apartment was just amazing! Although the listing is for a private room, you really get the entire house!
Odette and Matt are really friendly and helpful. They sent us prior to our arrival a map that marks all the best places in the area, the best thing ever! Thanks again guys :) The location of the apartment was great as well, just 20 minutes from the city by metro. And their cat is so cute! I truly recommend anyone who comes to DC to stay at their place, you won't regret it!!
A huge thank you to Odette and Matt ! They made everything so my trip to Washington went as good as possible.
First, Odette and Matt were very welcoming : their soup and the beer on the first evening made me feel like at home, and they do have plenty of idea and tips to visit Washington.
Secondly, the house is so comfortable ! The room is spacious with a good AC, and an amazing bed. I very appreciated the modern kitchen. And their (hypoallergenic) cat is so cut !
Finally the house is ideally situated to visit Washington. It is 7-10min walk to the red underground line (I would say ~25min) to the historical center of Washington, and at the same time the neibourhood is quiet.
Thank you very much, again !
I've know Matt since 2010 and Odette since 2011. They have been great friends since the time I lived in DC. They stayed at my place in September 2013 and were great guests. Not only are they great guests, they are also wonderful hosts when I stayed with them in June 2014. They made me feel right at home! We had a great BBQ in the backyard and walking tour of the up and coming neighborhood. I would, without any reservation, recommend them as hosts or guests.
Odette and Matt are good friends of my husband and I when we were living in DC. We came back into town for a visit earlier this summer and they were so sweet to let us stay at their place for a few days. The new home is a beautiful red brick in an up and coming neighborhood. The red line (on DC Metro) is super convenient for getting around town and is a easy ride from Union Station or Reagan Airport, depending on how you are getting into town (the buses also stop at Union Station). They have a nice spare bedroom with a super comfy bed. Also, Cosmo, their cat, who acts like he doesn't like you when they are there, but actually comes up to you begging for food and snuggles when they aren't home (he's a sneaky one). The neighborhood is also not far from Union St Market, a new hipster-ish neighborhood that has a nice farmers market and beer garden. Definitely recommend staying with these lovely folks if you're visiting Washington, DC.
Matt and Odette are wonderful-- fun, outgoing, and all around great people to know. We met hiking in 2013 and since they've been delightful friends. When we met I learned three things that give a snapshot of them 1) they were enthused by the idea of getting friends together for a DC-wide scavenger hunt; 2) they are knowledgable connoisseurs of beers and other alcohols; 3) they are both fun to engage in conversation whether about traveling, transportation, environment, or other.
I stayed at their house at the end of June and enjoyed discovering the neighborhood. The house is conveniently located between two metro stops on the red line and there is a growing selection of restaurants and bars nearby (including Menomale a superb pizza place). The area offers regular performances, weekly art projects, and a farmers market. I highly recommend them as guests or hosts.
Odette and Matt are some of the loveliest people that you might just happen to meet! They are also wonderful hosts. I've stayed at their place while traveling in DC and they always have great recommendations on the up and coming sites and sounds in the District. I was at their place during the Polar Vortex; Odette and Matt made sure I had plenty of blankets and even a space heater (though, the later wasn't needed - the room stayed pleasantly warm despite the chill outside). Their house is located close to the Red Line, so it has easy access to the metro area, too.
