The apartment is adequate for a quick overnight, though it wasn't as clean as I would have liked, and it's pretty bare bones. Henry was easy to communicate with and was very responsive when I couldn't get in to the apartment (my fault).
Henry did an excellent job of communicating, and providing timely access to the apartment. The apartment was in a great location. It was an overall great experience.
The space was beautiful - so much light! And the apartment is wonderfully located - very close to the Yale art gallery and downtown cafes and restaurants.
Henry was a great host. He was very clear about how to get and drop off the keys and was happy to answer questions via text over the weekend.
Henry's place could not be better located for visitors to Yale. It is light and airy, with plenty of windows. The studio is a good size and has a lovely feel, which the books and big table contribute to. Henry was great to deal with - flexible with timings and responsive and clear in his answers to any questions. Highly recommended!
Henry was a helpful and accommodating host--couldn't have asked for better, actually. While we never met, he answered all my questions promptly and gave me really good advice about parking in New haven which can be a nightmare. The apartment and neighborhood were fine..the apartment was exactly as I expected, clean, spacious and well situated. I know New haven so there were no surprises about the neighborhood, which I chose for its proximity to Yale.
This was my first time using airBNB and overall it was great. Would definitely use the service and stay with Henry again.
Apartment was clean bright and sunny as described. But bedding needs urgently upgraded. Sheets were worn and threadbare, pillows very very flat and duvet too thin/lightweight. I woke up cold every night and I was staying in apartment in May!! If bedding replaced, this is a good place to stay.
Henry's place was great - well located, good value, and had everything I needed. I didn't meet Henry but he was really easy to contact and flexible on arrival/departure times. He had also helpfully displayed the wifi code and left me some breakfast things which I really appreciated. I would definitely stay in his place again.
This is the best deal in New Haven. Henry's apartment is sunny, clean, and a few minutes' walk to lots of great restaurants. Since I was doing research at Yale it was great to be able to walk everywhere easily. I also had to do some writing and found the flat an excellent place to work. Henry is also very prompt, kind, and easily accessible.
Like most older buildings, it can get cold, but that's nothing heat and a hot shower can't remedy. I also found that there was some morning noise outside, but it wasn't anything that bothered me or woke me up. I had a great stay overall.
I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Henry's apartment. It was sunny as advertised, with lots of windows. And although the building was a bit old and run-down, Henry's space was very clean, neat, and well-kept. I was especially pleased with Henry's communication. His e-mails, text messages, and handwritten welcome note made me feel well taken-care-of. I would definitely stay at Henry's apartment again if I need to find accommodations near the Yale campus in the future.
I had a very pleasant stay in Henry's studio. It was clean, bright and spacious. Other guests have mentioned the cold, I stayed in winter and found the studio area (where the bed, desk etc are) to be fine, even on cold nights with the heat and an extra heater running. The kitchen and bathroom were a little cooler, but it was all very manageable and bedroom area was perfectly cosy. Henry is a very friendly host, gives guests plenty of information and is always available if you need any assistance. Very quick walk to Yale in a safe and quiet area of downtown, plenty of shops, bookstores, galleries and cafes and nearby.
