My husband Matt and I are easy-going and quiet guests. We've recently added a third to our family. Our baby is a happy guy but we aren't yet sure how he travels.
Matt and I have roughed it and stayed in modest luxury and like aspects of each. We're attracted to airbnb because we like to meet new people, especially people who can give us the scoop on the city or area. We also like the stylish digs that we might not otherwise be able to afford. On my own, I've travelled to Europe, East Asia and South America -- always on a budget. As I get older, I like to be comfortable and am looking for a bit more than a cot in the corner or mat on the floor. We have cats and don't mind pets of the furry or scaly variety.
I work as a university administrator and Matt works in the biotech industry. In the off-hours I like to write, read and putter. Matt likes to cook, take photos, and make improvements to our house. We both like local restaurants, movies both good and bad, farmer's markets, photography exhibits, modern design, and green tea smoothies.
Before Matt and baby, I'd rent out a room in my house on a short-term basis to visiting scholars. I liked playing host to visitors to my town. I always tried to be helpful but not overwhelming, and I suppose that's what I'm looking for in a host.
