I live in Berkeley CA. am vegetarian. I love to cook.
The place was in a great location walking distance to the University and had everything I needed to make the most of my time there. Koda was very responsive and quite helpful.
Thanks for the great stay!
This place has personality. It's thoughtfully arranged and was a very pleasant and comfy home-away-from-home for my two week visit. I enjoyed interesting food choices nearby and easy walk to BART. Miakoda was informative and attentive from offsite.
Miakoda has a very lovely place that she has clearly put a lot of time and intention into. The place is very clean, sunny and is near most everything in Berkeley. As a host I did not meet her but she was very considerate and thoughtful. Highly Recommend!
My stay at Myakoda was wonderful. It is a very special apartment and its energy just wonderful. The Sun is greeting us beautifully in the morning in the sleeping room and Kitchen I loved to stay there and I recommend it.
Quite and peaceful, wonderful energy and very relaxing. Close to BArt, shopping and eating. A very nice place to stay.
Miakoda's place is conveniently located near San Pablo and university where a diverse collection of restaurants and ethnic markets is all within a short walking distance. The street is quiet during weekdays, and livens up during the weekend. The apartment is artistic and comfortable with all the conveniences of home living. I would definitely come back.
Response from Miakoda:
thanks Eitan. do let me know when/if you head back this way.
Lovely apt with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Quiet, peaceful and easy to walk to every necessity. We didn't rent a car as BART was so close to hop to the city. Clean and ecologically appointed - fit our style perfectly. Comfy bed on floor was a dream for sleeping. Friendly super who fixed a lock which broke, in record efficient time - and pleasant about it too. Safe, quiet neighborhood - near everything. Will recommend to friends and family as it was just that perfect. Thank you Miakoda for a lovely stay in Berkeley!
Response from Miakoda:
thanks Susan. it was a pleasure having you. all the best
My family and I (husband and two boys, ages 3 and 1) stayed here for one week in late June 2012.
Miakoda was a wonderful host and was very thoughtful, going out of her way to make sure we had what we needed for our stay. The home was lovely and inviting, as well as being in a terrific location for us: walking distance to playgrounds, shops, and downtown Berkeley.
MiaKoda abode is a hip, artistic spiritual apartment with meditation alters in most rooms. There are wise saying with smiling Buddas. It made the smile to be in Berkeley again. The place is very clean and organized. She left us very detailed instructions about the care of her plants and other apartment norms.
It was a pleasure to have Miakoda and her father stay at our home. They were considerate and took care to clean up the home before leaving. I would welcome them back again.
Miakoda was very nice and clean and respectful of my home. I'd definitely host her again.
Miakoda was a wonderful and interesting guest with lots to do on her short Rhode Island world-tour. We wish we had more time to sit and talk with her... We would welcome her back anytime.
Miakoda, nice et special guest !!!
Miakoda, her father and her aunt stayed in our home for 10 days, the only thing that could have been better is if they did not have to leave. We let them use the kitchen and they always cleaned up afterwards; very self sufficient. We so enjoyed the conversations we shared in the evening and admire the work that Miakoda does in the world.
I've known Miakoda for a few years now. I think her space mirrors what I know about her... beautifully serene and peaceful. What I appreciate most about Miakoda is her ability to move through the world with both depth and grace.
I have known Miakoda since 2007. For the past few years we've both been part of an annual gathering of friends camping out in the New Mexico desert. I've always been impressed by her great communication skills, can-do attitude, and her commitment to self-care and social justice. To top it all off she's a very experienced housesitter, a successful entrepreneur/consultant, and a seasoned world traveler (not to mention a Brooklyn Girl born and bred :). So whether she's staying at your place or you're staying at hers, you're bound to enjoy Miakoda!
