Me any my boyfriend, we stayed in Lorna's apartment over New Year's. Lorna sent the end of the year in Scotland, so we did not get to meet her in person, but she was activly in touch with us via email to make sure everything went smoothly. We picked up the keys from her neighbour, which was perfectly easy.
The apartment is situated in the lovely neighbourhood of Notting Hill and it is a short 10min walk to the famous Portobello Road, and if one hoppes on the bus 7 or the tube at Ladbroke Grove, one gets around the city easily and quickly.
The apartment itself is lovely, cozy and warmly decorated and had a very characteristic and british atmosphere and touch to it. One can spend a cozy, rainy afternoon in the comfy living room if the business of the city gets too much and the kitchen is perfectly equipped so that one can have breakfast or any meal in if one needs a break from the buzz of restaurants, bra and cafes.
We had a perfect, authentic experience in the lovely, homy apartment, I would recommend it to anyone and come back anytime!
Lorna met us at her flat, explained how to use the French press coffee maker and made us feel comfortable. She even had a Christmas box of chocolates for us. We stayed for 10 delightful days over Christmas. Her flat was wonderfully decorated with hotel quality bedding and plenty of towels. We would definitely recommend Lorna's flat. Jonye and Deane Briggs
I had such a great time staying at Lorna's. She was really accommodating and helpful. It was in a great location. Five minutes to Portabello market and all the great shopping, but the actually street she lives on isn't touristy so you don't always have to deal with a crowd if you don't want to.
Her kitchen is well equipped, so I loved getting my produce at the market and making dinner at home. Also loads of grocery stores in the area, even a Whole Foods about 25 min walk away if your up for it.
Her decor is great, it's traditional meets rock and roll with the record player to boot! I loved it. Cute art too. Also the bedroom is super comfy with good closet space and a great cushy mattress.
I would highly recommend a stay at Lornas. I was there for three weeks and wasn't ready to leave. In fact I wanted to move in!
Lorna' s place is amazing and so is she. I had a great time in their flat. The apt is better than the picture and Lorna was very available for every question I had during my stay. The house is clean, quiet , the bed is very comfortable and the apartment is well equipped . I definitely would stay there again.
This is a fantastic little flat in easy walking distance from all Notting Hill amenities.
What made our stay such a pleasure , was how hospitable and accommodating Lorna was !
Stayed with my husband and 13 month old daughter, who loved the stairs down to the kitchen. We loved our stay and highly recommend it. We really appreciated the great cooking appliances particular the new oven and big fridge. Shops and ladbroke grove station about a5min walk away. Nice quiet area with local restaurant close by, recommend pizza east. Most importantly for us Lorna was a very accommodating host who was very flexible and understanding when our travel plans changed at the last minute. Highly recommend it for families though its worth noting that its on the 3rd floor. Really enjoyed our stay, thank your Lorna.
I had the most amazing, comfortable, cosy, relaxed, pretty and enjoyable stay at Lornas lovely flat! It is SO beautifully decorated and homely at the same time, gorgeous antiques and beautiful pictures, a perfect Notting Hill pad! and in such a great location, 5 mins walk from the Portobello Road, surrounded by fun cafes and bars, not to mention the shopping! and easy access to Kensington and Chelsea and Hyde Park. Communications with Lorna were swift and easy . . we will be back soon!
Thank you dear Francie xx
First of all, Lorna's apartment and neighborhood are absolutely adorable. I truly feel like I had the quintessential London experience while staying here. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby with the Portobello Road Market just a stone's throw away (which made for a fun Friday visit) and the Ladbroke Grove tube station is just a quick 5 minute walk away.
Secondly, Lorna was a gracious host. She responded to all of my questions promptly and even made sure I had someone to meet me at the apartment to get me settled in and answer any questions I may have had (as Lorna was out of town at the time). The apartment was exactly as described in the listing: cozy and airy and the fresh flowers waiting for me upon arrival did not go unnoticed. It's the little things that count!
All in all, I felt quite at home in Lorna's apartment and should I be heading back to London anytime soon (which I hope I will be), I'll definitely be looking to stay with Lorna. Thanks again!
