Welcome to our farm. The rustic elegant farmhouse has five rooms with two baths. We offer one master suite with a private bath, or four individual rooms with a shared bath. Each room is $159.00 per night. If you are traveling with other couples, please BOOK EACH ROOM SEPARATELY if you have several accounts. The rooms are not numbered, so you may choose the room you like. We have a queen, a California queen, two full beds and three single beds.
I can be an attentive host or let you experience the farm for yourself. I am an easy-going organic vegetable farmer. I am currently enjoying tv-celebrity-stardom awarded to me by Chef Vivian Howard of "Chef and the Farmer" restaurant and public television's Peabody award-winning "A Chef's Life." My wife might miss you, as she is often in Raleigh or Mississippi visiting grandchildren!
Airbnb is different from a regular B&B as we are not allowed to cook for you, but you may bring your own breakfast foods, snacks and drinks.
I will take you on a farm tour the next morning to see our chicken coop and hog pens and let you pick seasonal veggies. Mrs. Lillie Margaret Hardy, the Buttermilk Biscuit Queen, is also part of our world, and will give you a farm tour if I am not around.
Feel free to use our kitchen and bring your own preferred snacks or food items. We offer a self-serve continental breakfast. We are out the door early on weekdays.
During your stay, you may want to venture into quaint La Grange with the Art Gallery and downtown Kinston, minutes away. For comfort food and a good time, eat at Christopher's Cafe, serving Eastern North Carolina for four generations. Have an amazing slow-food-experience at the "Chef and the Farmer" and oysters at "The Boiler Room." Drink a locally-brewed beer at Mother Earth Brewery and then dance to live music at the Red Room. Visit the Overland Art Gallery, and the CSS Neuse Museum. Come enjoy our 1853 restored farmhouse if you want a not-so-traditional farm experience!
