Karen's flat was tidy and convenient. She was not able to greet us persoanlly, but was able to have a friend let us in and he was nice. The tube station is literally around the corner, but because the flat occupies the front of the building you can only hear it if you are outside. The neighborhood was pretty nice, lots of working folks and families, overall pretty quiet with some decent dining options. Our favorite was Bosa, the Lebonese place immediately east of the tube station. This place is perfect for Wimbledon, which we visited...only a 15-20 minute walk. Our only issues were that the bathroom lacked toilet paper when we arrived (which was delivered the next day) and the dishes, while appearing clean, actually had dingy film on them, so we had to wash them before use. I believe the cleaning service, rather than the host, was responsible for these oversights. After we left, I thought I had left something and contacted Karen to help. She was very accommodating and looked for the items, which I later found in my luggage. Overall, we were satisfied.
We had a wonderful stay at Karen's! Her home is nice and cozy and extremely close to public transport and groceries, restaurants etc. Karen was extremely friendly and very helpful and organised two extra days to spend at hers last minute. She was prompt with replies when needed.
Karen's place is very conveniently located near southfields tube station and is perfect for a quiet and cosy stay in London. There are quite few shops and cafes around to get by.
The only thing negative thing I have to say is there weren't any bedside lamps: There was just the main light.
Otherwise the place was really nice and Karen was really accommodating so I recommend it !
I stayed in Karen's flat with my parents. She was very accommodating and helpful when making our booking and was flexible in the checkout time which meant my parents didn't need to worry about storing luggage before their late flight. The flat's location is excellent, just a short walk to Southfields tube and shops. It is a small flat but everything is new and well presented. We enjoyed our stay and had no major issues!
Awesome quite location, minute walk form the train station and all the local shops. 40min train ride to city centre. Very clean with a nice rain head shower. Karen was very professional to deal with. Definitely recommend checking it out.
VERY close to train (you don't even actually cross any streets), enough grocery / other services nearby, very easy to get in touch with host.
This flat is, in theory, good. Good location, decent set up, walkable to a lot of great shops etc. Karen was quickly responsive to issues with internet (frustratingly intermittent throughout my stay) and hot water (which I didn't have the first 2 days but she fixed by 3rd day). However, what I wasn't told is that they are doing massively disruptive and unbearably LOUD construction directly below this flat on the ground level. For 8-12 hours a day every day except Sunday they were drilling, jackhammering and banging pretty much non stop. So loud that I couldn't hear the sound on my laptop or the TV, even with noise cancelling headphones. Sleeping was out of the question. It was truly unbearable, I ended up spending as much time out of the flat as possible, and because the job I was in town for required me to work nights I was entirely exhausted by the time I left as there was simply no chance of sleeping once they started every morning. The porter advised that it will be at least another 2 months of this and likely longer, so if you're looking at staying anytime between now and July/Aug 2013 I'd inquire first. I should have been made aware before booking that this was happening so I could make an informed decision. I've filed a complaint with airbnb and am still working on getting a refund.
I had a wonderful experience staying in Karen's flat. The apartment had everything you could need and was a nice place to come to after long days exploring London. The location was ideal, 5 minute walk to the tube station on the District line. I definitely recommend it and would stay there again!
Karen was very responsive and helpful with whatever we needed. 1 minute walk to southfields station near Wimbledon.
Karen is a lovely guest (and Airbnb host). She is conscientious and considerate. Highly recommended!
