We had an excellent stay at David's apartment in Brooklyn. The apartment was spacious, clean, quiet and easily accommodated our large group. Living room, kitchen and dining area are connected by a large open area, great for socializing. The location was good too; on a fairly quiet corner, but only one or two blocks from a commercial area of restaurants, coffee shops, some stores and a major subway hub. David was easy to contact, replied quickly, made the "check-in" and "check-out" process easy, and was overall very helpful and friendly. No question, a great place to stay and great host in Brooklyn!
David's apartment is unbeatable, unless you want to pay for 3 hotel rooms!
It's a true 3 bedrooms, a rarity in NY apartments. No sofa beds, futons, or air mattresses, but 3 proper beds in three real rooms, and all of the beds are all extremely comfortable.
Another notable feature- the quiet.
The block itself is peaceful. There are no late night surprises like a loud nightclub or a hospital with ambulance sirens at all hours. None of the bedrooms face the street, so you don't even get the usual street sounds.
I was also pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to park in the neighborhood. I always found a spot within a block of the apartment on my first swing around the block. There are no parking meters or resident stickers, so except for a couple of street cleaning times you can let you car sit for days. And with numerous subway lines an easy walk (some just a block away) you really won't need a car.
If you're looking at David's apartment, you're probably already aware of how dynamic the neighborhood is, how convenient the location is to most of the interesting parts of Brooklyn, and how quickly you can be in Manhattan. I found David's apartment when I was specifically seeking something in Fort Greene. My son used to live there, in fact on the same block as David, and even though he has since departed for another part of town, I still like to stay in Fort Greene when I visit him.
The apartment itself is perfectly spic and span. There is a pleasing lack of clutter, but all the essentials and then some: plenty of towels and pillows and blankets; a well-equipped kitchen; and multiple big screen TVs with every kind of cable channel and digital device you could want.
David is a gracious and accommodating host with a fabulous apartment. I could go on, but I worry about saying too much--I don't want his apartment to become so popular on airbnb that I won't get to rebook it for my next visit!
David was incredibly accommodating, and went the extra mile to ensure we had a comfortable stay. He equipped the apartment with extra space heaters before we arrived, just to make sure that we were kept warm and toasty since I had let him know that was important to us. David left us extra logs and starter logs for the fireplace and was kind enough to give us directions to local conveniences. His home was neat and comfortable and the location was excellent with easy access to public transportation. We had a great stay and David was a fabuluous host.
David was a very gracious host. He was out of the country for most of our stay, so we had the place to ourselves. He texted us a few times to check in and make sure everything was going well (which it was).
The apartment is spacious, clean, tasteful, and comfortable, even for several guests (we had six people there for a few nights). The location is absolutely perfect. It's our second time staying in Fort Greene now, and I would definitely go back. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops only 2-3 blocks away, and his place is right across the street from a park. It's very convenient to access the subway as well (Atlantic Terminal is maybe 6-7 blocks away). Plus, for three bedrooms, you can't beat the price.
Overall, I'd recommend David and his apartment without a second thought. I'm considering returning to his place on my next trip to New York.
This is a great apartment in a great location. Fort Greene is an interesting area. The apartment is very well positioned, close to shops and subway, and opposite a park. It is very spacious - there were 4 of us, but 6 people would easily be able to stay comfortably. David was very easy to communicate with, and went out of his way to assist us to have a good stay. We did not meet, as he was out of the country, but he set up very good support systems for us. I would love to stay here again if I ever come back to America (NYC) which I would love to do.
David was super accommodating and my guests had a great stay at his place. I used his apartment to house a woman and her brother and 14 year old son (they were in town for work and I needed to find them a place). The neighborhood is the best in Brooklyn: bookshops, gourmet grocers, nice cafes and bars- I was really lucky to find David and he made everything smooth and simple for my group.
Thanks so much David! We will definitely stay with you again!
David made everything about our stay easy, convenient and enjoyable. He made himself available if we needed anything, checking in with us periodically in case we had questions, needed anything, or just wanted a recommendation of where to eat. The apartment itself is great, too. It's very clean and nicely set up for having other people over or just enjoying time alone. The location is ideal for access to trains, places to eat, shopping, etc. We couldn't have been happier with the whole experience. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a rental in Brooklyn!
