Margaret and Rex were fantastic hosts and their house is truly an oasis in the harsh desert south of South Felipe. Directions were precise, communication was excellent and helpful, and both were splendid to chat with and learn from. The fire ant margaritas should be bottled and sold; they were that tasty. Highly recommend staying here and experiencing desert sustainable energy living at its finest.
Thanks! You and Lucy were great guests.
I am certainly biased being Rex and Margaret's daughter, but I can't recommend las Quatro Vistas highly enough! My dad's fire ant margaritas and guacamole are amazing, he's been perfecting the recipes for my whole life. Enjoying the sunset on the roof deck with one of those margaritas in your hand is wonderful, and if you stay up there long enough you get to enjoy all four of the views: the San Martin de Martir mountains, the Sea of Cortez, the desert, and the night sky. I visit frequently, and some of my favorite things to do are sit in the hot springs in the tide pools in Puertecitos, visit the Valley of the Giants, and have the best fish tacos in the world in Gonzaga Bay. It's also nice to stay at home, enjoy the shady patios or the perfect nap couch in the great room, or walk down to the beach.
My parents are fantastic hosts with a knack for making everyone feel at home. Having your own casita gives you privacy, but you also have experts on hand to give you tips for enjoying your stay. Every time I spend a few days at las Quatro Vistas I come home feeling rested, relaxed, and a little disappointed that I had to leave.
